    Hi all,

I just have got the visa screen certificate but haven't taken NCLEX yet. I wonder what I should do next? looking for the employer and file the visa or do I need to take NCLEX first? I already applied to WA Board of Nursing but haven't heard anything back yet. oh! and for how long it would take for the petition for the green card visa?

    thanks a bunch,

I would have thought the next stage is to do your NCLEX because without you would not be able to work as a RN, you could also look for employment at the same time but they probably will not start petition until you pass NCLEX.

    That is my opinion
  5. You need to look for an employer next. If you already have a Visa Screen Certificate, this means that you have already passed CGFNS, amd the required English exams if you are not exempt.

Washington is going to be processed out of the California office more than likely, you are looking at around one year minimum time just for the !-140.
Praobably on a truthful scale until you actually have the green card in your hand, you are looking at about two years....................

I would definitely look for an employer, as youe time only gets stretched out longer without one.

    Dear Suzanne,

Thanks a lot for your reply. Does that mean I will get the green card in two years times if I start to look for the employer now? Is it possible to go to the US and work before I got the green card?

I am talking about two years from the time that the petition is submitted for you. Do you have a tourist visa for the US? Or some other type of visa that legally allows you to enter the US? If you do, and you go to the US and find a job, then you can have the hospital put in for a change in status for you, and you can begin work in about 90 days. That is when you would receive your EAD letter, which would permit you to work.

If you do not have at least a tourist visa for the US, then you will have to wait until you actually receive your green card to begin working.

    Good luck.........................

    Hi,

If you are still in need of a US hospital to sponsor you you can email me your resume and I can set up an interview for you. But you need to have a solid nursing experience.
Once the hospital offered you a job, an immigrant visa petition can be filed on the basis of your CGFNS. However you need to pass an NCLEX exam to be able to practice your profession in the U.S. You have to contact the board of nursing of your state of intended employment for licensure requirements.

The processing times varies depending on how fast the immigration could act on your case. The average length of time is 1 year to 1 and a half. But if your case is filed in Vermont service center, then you have less delay compared to California service center.
