- Mar 29, '08 by suzanne4Please refer to the red banner at the top of the Canadian forum and it asks that if you have any questions for licensure or immigration that they need to go to the International Forum. We are trying to keep the Canadian Forum, as well as the other sub-forums for specific issues for the nurses that are already living and working there.
Registration and immigration have different requirements when you are from out of the country, so many local nurses are not aware of what you will need to do.
If you take the time to have a good read on this form where I just moved your post to, you will find much about specifics for working in Canada and specifically Ontario.janfrn and pinkyrosern like this. -

- Mar 30, '08 by suzanne4There are quite a few threads here on this forum concerning working in Canada giving all of the requirements as well as contact numbers for the province and their equivalent of the BON.
There is no reason to post it all here again. You just need to use the search engine that we have here to find the threads, or you can just do a review here of what is posted.
It is not going to be a quick process and the licensing exam is only given three times per year there. Take the time to really study what you are going to need to do, it is not going to be as easy as you may think.
Best of luck to you.
Just as side note: Did you actually take and pass the NLE? Canada will not accept you for licensure without that being done first. - Sep 15, '08 by melody819santosmy niece just graduated from nursing. she di not pass the board exam.,she hs aus visa and plan to come here and take the nclexhere in california. does she need a ssn#even she has a visa?

:
starting january of this year california bon are requiring those educated here in philppines to have a local license prior being approve to sit for the nclex-rn exam. i would suggest to your niece to retake the nle and pass it. - Sep 16, '08 by tobby_walterQuote from pinkyrosernjust go to this site www.cno.org and ask them to send you an application pocket on how to register as a nurse in ontario.hi!

i just recieved my application pocket they sent to me. im just in the process of securing the needed requriements. - Sep 16, '08 by Silverdragon102She will not be able to stay in the US one she has sat NCLEX and adjust to work unless she has another visa allowing her to stay and work. As mentioned for Ca she needs local license (NLE) and having a Aus visa will not change that requirement unless she has a Aus nursing license
- Sep 28, '10 by RNPlayaI am also waiting for my evaluation from the CNO...I sent my my papers to be evaluated for RN/RPN equivalency... I graduated from a nursing school last year with an RN-Diploma and I am Registered in Ohio...I know that Ontario requires a Bachelors degree...Few days ago I received an update from the College and they are asking me to complete the Baccalaureate Equivalency Table....Has anyone of you had to work on the BET? I need your comments please...
