Has anyone used SPICE in an academic assignment

Specializes in ICU.

I'm going to take a new module at the Uni this coming semester that has only just been ratified. Its called Making An Impact In Practice (level 3, 15 credits) and apparently uses SPICE as an approach and I haven't got a clue what this is.

I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me how this works, and do they have any comments or suggestions?

Thank you in advance

It's not something I've heard of Mary, what is it?

Hi Sharrie

have found out a bit more. Spice is an acronym for:

- Setting the context

- Perspective

- Intervention

- Comparison

- Evaluation

I am going to use a care bundle that I wrote for our ICU as the basis for the assignment, there are no lectures :yeah:which is fab because I hate sitting still. Just tutorials, one to one with a lecturer.

Ahh, a structure for your work excellent I always work better with some sort of structure.

good luck

it looks pretty similar to my assignment requirement. I was asked to use a critical analysis model (Alvaro Lefevre) which can be overimposed on a reflective model(good old Gibbs). By the time I got the two together, I could have written the assignment using SPICE.:banghead:
