HAAD exam exemption if US RN

Hi ,I am practicing my nursing profession in the Philippines but I'm also US-RN(passed NCLEX active license since 2010).

I was assisted by my local agency on HAAD dataflow but they forgot to include my US license in this process.

A few months later my agency told me I can now take the HAAD exam but then I read online if one is a US RN you are eligible for an exam exemption.

One direct employer in Abu dhabi for homecare also told me that I am exempted to take the HAAD exam and an exam application center also told me I could be exempted.

I don't who to believe because my agency now is telling me that they have USRN clients who were not exempted from this exam so they advised me to just take the exam.

Does anyone have the same experience? or are there USRNs who got exempted in HAAD exam just by being an active US-RN (NCLEX passer since 2010)

I am currently working in abu dhabi. I took the HAAD exam even if I'm licensed in the US. The only way you can be excempted is if you're educated in the US, worked in the US or a US citizen.

thank you for your input jotdi. I'm just a bit hesitant to these things because you know agencies and other entities(some , not all though) would take advantage of nurses.

Just remember one thing. You are not a US RN. A US RN is an RN who is resident IN the United States. Not someone who passed an exam making them eligible to work there. You are not a permanent resident or citizen or educated in the US. You passed an exam.

we have the same situation.. I am an nclex passer too, and i was also told that there are some companies that are accepting nclex passers.. just now i tried to asked some agencies here in manila, i got 2 out of 10 accepting nclex passers, but it still needs confirmation from the employer though..

I dont want to take exams anymore, hoping that they will accept it.. considering it has the same testing center which is pearson vue.

PS: pls tell us if u do know some agencies that are accepting nclex passers to work in UAE

Please pray that our nclex will be accepted.

thank you for all your replies. I am convinced to take the HAAD exam..

I have not taken the exam because I am not yet ready.

Now, I'm confused and hesitant to take the exam because there are already nurses who got exempted from taking the exam all because they passed the NCLEX exam. I read there were 2 nurses already who shared their experience in another forum of their exemption.

There are already agencies with employers hiring NCLEX passers , no need to take HAAD they say as they will convert it to HAAD.

So what's really going on? ehehe:nailbiting:

To Jotdi,

How about if you are a US license, been practicing nursing for 20 years in the US and a US citizen but did not attend a US nursing school? Are you exempt to take he test?
