Canada requires BSN and each province has their own requirements in regards registering with a college of RN. Then you have to meet immigration requirements. Canada is huge and varied so a lot will depend on what you want with your life in Canada. Easier, I wouldn't say so because it is different

Dear Tina,

It is possible to work in the US as a nurse when you are foreign educated.

Since every state has different requirements and first of all you need to decide, where you want to work. Then you have to contact the Board of nursing for this state to find out, what especially they reqire.

I came to Florida about 1 year ago and still working on obtaining my license.

In my case I needed an educational record from my nursing school with all the breakdown hours in all the classes I took over there. Then you will have to take the Toefl exam to proof that you can understand the english language as it is used in university classrooms. And you will have to apply for licensure at the Board of nursing. Some of that paperwork should be started while you still are in Germany because it takes some time and you should get the informations about greencard and work visa and so on.

yes i m foreign educated....i went here to school..and now i m doing my training.

thank u so much...it so nice that u took time for me.....i think now i have enough information first i will concentrate for my exam...i want to pass it with good marks, u know.

But one quetions.... Are u working as a nurse since 1 year....or do u have to wait???

Hi Tina, since I moved here before I even started the process of applying for my license, it takes some time to get everything together. but there are couple things you can start while you are still in Germany.

I moved here November 27th last year and it took some time to find out what I will have to do, because I didn´t wanted to pay an agency to get help. So it takes a little bit longer. Now my application for the Board of nursing is complete and I am waiting for their descision if I can take my boards soon.

The difference would be the route you got your visa allowing you to live and work in the US.

Retrogression is affecting many many thousands of nurses so if you are the main applicant for a immigrant visa the issue is finding a employer willing to wait the 5+ years before you get to the US and work
