Oh, sorry, I don´t know anything about greencard or work visa, because I have dual citizenship, so it was a lot easier for me to come here. but I wish you all the best.

Tina, have you applied for a green card yet? Because I heard it will take some time- umm years- till you can get one.

Tina can't apply for GC until finished schooling, met state requirements, passed NCLEX and found a employer willing to wait several years who will file for immigrant visa. That is the hurdle at the moment

No i didnt applied yet :( ....first i have to finish my school.... :D

Hello Sue,

I'm a pediatric nurse in Germany and would like to work in the USA as well. You wrote that the Florida Board of Nursing wanted to have your breakdown hours of all the classes you took. And that's exactly the issue I'm dealing with right now. My problem is that I took the exam for nursing in Germany after 2004. That means I was trained in the new German nursing system (Gesundheits- und Kinderkrankenpflegerin instead of Kinderkrankenschwester as it was called before). So the new system has combined classes. But the board of nurses wants to have the separate classes with the hours to each class. Now my question is, if you could tell me how your curriculum looks like (which classes and how many hours).

Was the paper you gave them enough or did you have to take some additional classes in FL to be allowed to take the test?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sue,

I know this thread is quite old, but it is the most helpful thing I've found so far in my search for information.

I am an American citizen planning to study in Germany. Then, I plan to transfer my credits back to America. It seems like you made a similar path. I'm wondering if you can tell me what your degree transferred to.

I will be taking Bachelor Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege an apprenticeship and study program that is a 4-5 year degree.

I assume I will have to re-test in America to be certified. Do you know if the Bachelor will transfer to BSN.

Hoping you see this

Thank you!

Hey Tina, Do you not like Germany? I really want to study there?
