Philadelphia, PA- October 26, 2006-The Board of Trustees of the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools met October 22-23,2006 and considered whether Philippines nurses who have passed the PRC June 2006 nursing licensing exam are eligible for VisaScreen Certification.

The Board directed its staff ans counsel to review and assess whether the licensure process will be followed in light of the challenged results of the June 2006 exam is "comparable" with that required for nurses licensed in America, as required by U.S. law. CGFNS WILL THEN MAKE a final determination of whether passers of the JUNE 2006 exam are eligible for visascreen certification. CGFNS expects to reach a final decision on question of comparability THE NEAR FUTURE. ANY VisaScreen applications that CGFNS receives from JUNE 2006 passers will be accepted BUT DEFFERED for a final decision until this assessment process is complete. IF the assess concludes that the license ISOT COMPARABLE, the VisaScreen application from a June 2006 WILL be DENIED.

I AM PRETTY SURE THEY ICHP will decide on our favor.. issuance of CES may be the start ...... GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE

yeah right...Been stressed for almost half year..hope this agony will end.;)

me too!:sniff: I'm so tired. So stressed out.

just try. you'll never know until you try. look at me, i made it!

May our father jesus christ guide those people in CGFNS to come up with a fair and just resolution of this issue . It breaks my heart when i see the june 06 passer's parents, wives and children losing hope to have a better future because of some corrupt and selfish people in this profession.

grace already made it... so everyone should do it now....

One person getting a VSC, does not mean that all will be getting one. The issue is still on hold with ICHP and no resolution has been issued in this as of yet. So do not get your hopes up.

Im keeping my hopes high because i am sure that CGFNS will come up with a fair decision. 4yr education and a BSN degree here in philippines is already enough to prove that we are competent and if we can pass NCLEX RN and english examination this will solidify our worth to serve in the united states.

You could have retaken the exam already in December and go on with your life. Those that did have no worries.

i know a friend (a very very close one) who passed the june 2006 NLE. her visascreen certificate is now on its way to her house... she's happier than ever! believe me or not, whatever. but my point is, a june2006 passer, registered, took cgfns exam, toefl, then applied for visascreen, after a week, status says there in cgfns website, CERTIFIED. it was mailed jan26,2007 and the expiration also states there jan26,2012. :) now thats great news.

Thread closed since no new information has come from CGFNS.

And circumventing the rules to get something is not how things are done in the US. Getting a Visa Screen Certificate does not grant a visa, final decision is still up to the US Embassy; the VSC is only a screening tool.
