Fired by St Joes

Just heard from OGP that St Joe's cancelled my contract today, no reason but I guess that they are tired of waiting for me to return to work.

As you all know I had a Car accident in feb and am still recovering. OGP just phoned to let me know.

I wonder how much more I am going to have to undergo before my luck starts improving. Mind you I can now insist on day work and hopefully closer to where I live.;)

Had steroid injections into my back and thigh today, and it is starting to ache now.:o

Hi

Everybody thank you so much for you lovely kind wishes. In one way yep it is good because now maybe I can push for a day job closer to home. In another way it is a bit frightening as I had a job I could return to, when the money runs out, now I have no security blanket.

Kay - you are in my thoughts and prayers. Whilst a security blanket may have gone, you are now not tied to somewhere that does not appreciate human beings as people.

Best wishes for a bright new future round the corner.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I am in a similar boat so I understand only too well. This exactly why I say nursing in the US sucks....there's no understanding, no support and no security. You're just left to rot by the side of the road. This is when you really start to miss the NHS! When you're feeling better try getting reemployed by St Joe's independently from OGP. Actually they might have done you a favour because you'll be able to earn more now you're not with OGP. Take some advice from me....don't pay OGP a flipping penny! If they ask for money ignore them. They are bullies. I would go and sign up with an agency now, and then maybe when you feel up to it do some shorter Per Diem shifts to keep money coming in. I know Maryvale are always hurting for staff. There's two of my mates working there post-OGP and are earning good money. Good luck and wish you better.

Hi once again thanks for support. Rock nurse OGP havent fired me just the facility. So I am still in same boat re agency. Plus I really dont have enough nursing experience in this country to get employed as an agency nurse. I only worked 7 weeks before I had my car accident.

Sorry to hear of your unlucky times Madwife i do hope that you find a settled environment and your back heals. I beleive you are being tested but im sure you'll find the right place soon.

Good luck
