Ivy Tech - Fall 2012

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Thought I would start a thread to see how many people were applying to Ivy Tech's Fall 2012 nursing programs.

I will be applying to the Fort Wayne campus. Looking to see if they are any others out there who might be joining me.

Please feel free to post where you are applying, and then once those letter get mailed out at the end of May, let us know if you got in!

I wish I would have made a copy of my application packet. The more I think about it the more I think I forgot something. I just wish those letters would get here! I know they send the ASN letters around May 31st...but when do they send the PN letters? PN is the only one I applied to with a total score of 180.2.

With a score of 180.2, I would say you are pretty much a shoe in for the PN program, you probably would have gotten into the RN program too (if you wanted).

Based on the talk I had with the Dean of Nursing on my campus, they accepted people last semester into the ASN program that only had a total of 115 pts. They had people with B's and C's. I know each semester is different, but I think on some campuses the pools have gotten smaller because people have heard how hard it is to get in and don't bother to apply.

I know for some campuses like Indy, the pools are larger than ever because of some study or something that is going on there, and EVERYONE wants to be part of it. I just want to be a RN!

I wish I could have applied for the RN program but one year off of work is all I can manage at this time. I hope to then start work as an LPN and whatever facility I work for can hopefully help financially with the RN transistion program. I hope I can get a decent school loan to cover my childcare costs.

Do you know anything about the State of Indiana scholarship that pays 5000.00 if you agree to work in Indiana for 2 years after you graduate?

Not really, but I would love to learn more! I don't plan on moving from Indiana ever so agreeing to two years here would be no big deal. Wonder where to go to find information out about it.

SSACI: Nursing Scholarship This is the website I found where you can apply. Sounds like a good idea. I need to talk to financial aid about it first and see if there are any drawbacks to it.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out!

GOT MY LETTER TODAY!!!!!! Will be attending Ivy Tech Columbus ASN program...... good luck to all others!!!:w00t:

Well, applicants... the wait is on... Columbus letters are starting to arrive.!! Could I possibly get any more anxious? I thought it would be the end of next week at the earliest before any of them went out. Now I'm obsessing, worried that perhaps I missed a letter in the mail from Bloomington or Sellersburg. wait, wait, wait, pace, pace, pace...

and, CONGRADS to you, ChrisRN. :yeah:

Congrats ChrisRN! Now I will be watching my mailbox like a hawk! I hope all the programs get their letters out sooner rather than later!

Congratulations ChrisRN!! I cannot wait for THE LETTER. I am tempted to call the campuses I applied to to ask if they started sending their letters out too. Do they let you know either way? I applied for the Lawrence and Anderson ASN programs and the wait is killing me!!! Am I the only one who checks the Ivy Tech message boards every day? I've been on this website for hours at a time making lists of helpful hints and supplies I might need. I have already shopped for shoes and stethoscopes! This madness has to end! It helps to know I am not the only one in this boat!
