Malcolm X Fall 2016 (CCCSON)

U.S.A. Illinois

Hey Everyone,

Long time lurker here!

I made a promise to myself. The only way that I will ever make an Allnurses account, is when I apply to nursing school. Well, that time has finally arrived, and I just finished submitting my application to the City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing. I clicked on that submit button like a boss!

Good luck to everyone who applied.

So did anyone get accepted or denied yet?? This wait is really making me nervous...

I wonder the same thing. I was at Malcolm X today and they were having orientation for the LPN bridge program already! I called to see when will we hear something and the receptionist told me early or middle July. The wait is killing me.

gpa:3.4 teas reading:88% teas overall: 85%

Thank you for your response. It's really ridiculous to have to wait until mid July. There must have been a lot of applicants, or they are really unorganized..

They can take all the time in the world, as long as I get an acceptance letter. Ha.

Does anyone know the number of available seats for Fall'16?

I hope they don't take their sweet time, then it makes us stressed because we have little time get get our drug test/physical and properly plan ahead. some of us work a 9-5 & if I get morning classes, I have to inform my employer.

I think they take about 200 students. I was looking at the available Nursing 101 lecture seats and they have enough for 224 students. I already took my drug tests/physicals and everything we need because the advising office gave me some bad information. It's so disorganized!

Thank you! 200 seems like a nice number, but who knows.

Hey, atleast you have one less thing to worry about.

I dislike when people get bad information because sometimes it can be a waste of time. I'm not saying you won't get in, but what if you get wait listed or seats get filled and you get accepted into 2017's starting class (if they even do that). You basically wasted your time and money to get these things done and wont get compensated. It's happened to me before (bad information, time/money wasted) & it was upsetting I had to do things over. Which is why now I ask my peers & multiple advisors and/or speak to the coordinator of the program.

In a related question, I took my BNA class in the fall & we had to do a physical/finger prints/shot records. Could I still use that for this degree? It would save me from taking a day off work!

Yes this wait is making me nervous!! I check my email everyday to see if something came. Hopefully its sooner so we wont have to rush to get things done.

I fwd'd my emails to my phone, so I could stop logging in every 5 min. lol They come as texts, so every time i hear it, i get a little excited & then disappointed when it's some random school email.

Yes the anticipation is real! I went on the CCC website too, to see what times the classes & labs are offered. Mainly Mondays & Wednesdays for lextures, labs Tuesdays, Thursdays & some Fridays & Saturdays. Just to get an idea when the time comes. If its 200+ seats, we all should be able get in í ½í¹í ¼í¿¾
