Hey Everyone,
Long time lurker here!
I made a promise to myself. The only way that I will ever make an Allnurses account, is when I apply to nursing school. Well, that time has finally arrived, and I just finished submitting my application to the City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing. I clicked on that submit button like a boss!
Good luck to everyone who applied.
I applied as well. 3.1 GPA, 90% TEAS Reading, 82% TEAS overall. Good lucky everyone I hope we're all future classmates together! I was lurking on an old post of city colleges nursing program and it looks like it took them about two weeks to hear back. Also, yes the new building is incredible. The advising office has a whole new system it's much faster.
Hey guys!
Your TEAS score are impressive! I guess I should have studied more, but I was cutting it short. I heard they are changing the TEAS test around a bit next cycle & I just wanted to make sure I had a fighting chance this year. I took my test on the last day and qualified, applied the 29th. I only had about a week to study as I was taking A&P II this spring semester & it was a lot of work! At least with the Dr. I had! But it was my last pre/co-req. I applied to the LPN program also, just in case. The new building is still being put together, but it is a nice improvement. I hope we all get in & by the looks of it, we have great chance, as our GPA & scores look good.
Does anyone know about the class times being offered? & will it be the same as the BNA classes/clinicals?
Are you still certified? I know having a BNA is a requirement to apply but didn't give an expiration date for the class.
Honestly, the program was very disorganized. I took it before they moved everything to the new building, so that might have been the issue. They had students in the old building and at West Side Learning Center. The hours were long and the book was 36 chapters. We had to work on the workbook and write out every definition in a matter of 2 months, which would take me a long time to finish because of work & we had to study for tests & attend classes; so time was limited. I had asked for weekend clinicals, as I work M-F & they put my clinicals on a Friday, forcing me to take 5 weeks off work. I don't think the amount of work we had to do was worth it, but it did help with the first time jitters. Some of the students worked in a retirement home and some worked in hospitals. If I could have just skipped it all and just taken the state test, I would have opted for that, but it was a good experience.
Hi everyone!
When I applied for the LPN program it said that we should hear from them by June 3rd but you never know ("Applicants will be notified via their acceptance into the program via their CCC student email address on or about June 3, 2016.") For the ADN program, who knows. I applied to both. Good luck!
That sounds hectic. I hope its ran different, I still need to work. I let my certification expire but I can recertify & take the test again just dont know when. Requirement said proof of successful completion of a Basic Nursing Assistance Program (BNA) or Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA) certificate is required at the time of application, so the BNA program on my CCC transcript should put me in the clear.

I have never been to Malcolm X. I passed the school a couple times & have not seen the new building. Hopefully all our scores & grades help us get in.
