The painful wait begins. Have you applied or heard anything?

Hey all,

This whole waiting to hear back is driving me crazy as I'm sure it is all of you. A little bit about me. I will be graduating from Loyola University Chicago with my bachelors of psychology. My GPA is a 3.3 and my GRE was 1000 with a 4.5. I have my EMT-B license and have been working as an EMT-B on campus for almost a year. I have done a lot of volunteering as an EMT at various events such as the Chicago Marathon this past year.

I have applied and been accepted to Valparaiso University's ABSN. I have also applied to UIC's GEP with a concentration of psychiatric mental health and I found out yesterday that I received an interview with them. My interview is on Friday so I'm kind of nervous. But I would really like to hear back from DePaul, I definitely do not have a lot of patience! Good luck to you all.

Hi guys!

I just made an account today- this is so cool :-) I also applied for DePaul's MENP program for the Fall 2012 cycle. Can't wait to hear back! I'm pretty nervous! Once we all get our Master's in nursing at DePaul..;) do any of you know how the DNP program would work (like how many years it'd be, given we went through the MENP program)? Thanks guys!

Good luck tomorrow! Just be yourself and know why you want to be a nurse! You are gonna rock it!

I met with Dr. Paula Kagan a while back and the way she said the DNP program would work is that you'd already have a fair amount of the classes completed since you have your masters.... She said it'll take the 4 year program and make it roughly 2 years...

It looks like applicants should start hearing soon! An advisor called and she said that letters should be going out by the 18th - next week. Has anyone else gotten any phone calls or information?

Really?? When did the advisor call you? I spoke with someone yesterday and was told something completely different...

I think it was the 13th when I spoke with them. What did you hear?

That we wouldn't find out until end of April or beginning of May. I really do hope we do find out this week though!

Hey everyone! I had been checking this conversation for a few weeks in December but haven't been back since then...I applied for the fall as well, and I really wish that DePaul's application cycle was more synced with the other schools I applied to. I have heard back from every school except DePaul and had to make the tough decision of making a deposit in March to hold my spot in a class. I'm really excited about the school I've chosen, but I can't help but wonder what if...anyway, good luck to you all as you wait to hear back and good luck as we all begin our journeys as nurses! :)

Anything? Anyone?? ok it's after the 18th now....... Lol!Seriously- here's a question- for those debating between loyola and depaul- which is your first choice and why? I am still trying to figure out which program to go for (if I do get accepted) and man this is a tough decision. Depaul was my first choice but loyola is awesome too.....seems like for my goals both programs will get me there in about the same time frame (fnp).. And both are about the same costs.... Loyola seems higher ranked (50) and depaul is (115) but depaul has 95% pass rate and loyola is 81% pass rate- however I don't put much stock into the pass rates because I know I would apply myself and study hard for that test (already bought a bunch of apps!) sooooo I am wondering- for those with the same dilemma- what is swinging you towards one school or the other?Renee

I have not heard back yet either! I keep calling and checking online compulsively! Renee I have heard great things about Loyola's program...and was kind of wondering if I should be doing an accelerated program as well! Lots of rumors flying around with the requirement to have a DNP to become a ARNP. Guess we will see what happens! I had my interview with Rush already, did not get accepted for pediatrics at UIC, and waiting to hear back from DePaul...this is killing me! I spoke with someone and they said wouldnt hear back until beginning of May.

Mind if I ask where you are planning on attending this fall?!
