  1. Yeah I didn't think I was going to get into UIC but thought what the heck might as well apply. And congrats on your acceptance into your other programs!!! At least you have options :) I am waiting to hear back from Rush and Depaul too. Makes me nervous to think about eeeeek. Everyone keep eachother updated with when we hear back and good luck!!!
  2. RickyLatino87, don't be discouraged it is so selective and I found out last week I didn't get into UIC...We will all end up where we are meant to go! Do you mind if I ask what you got on your GRE scores? I didn't do well on mine either so am kind of nervous. Who was it that notified you via email...and admissions counselor? And Naysando...I called this morning didn't tell them my name or anything and they said that we will find out within the next two weeks so don't feel discouraged. Really getting nervous and compulsively checking my email...this is NOT good for my health!
  3. I did not get an interview (I called Julie Kim and she said she was sending out emails and letters this week) They only interviewed 12 ppl for the 5 spots in peds so I knew it was a slim chance anyways...what specialty did you apply for?
  4. Oh no, I totally plan on going all the way for it too!! I just was hearing that there will not be any advantage of those having an MSN over a BSN...like the program length will be about the same since there will be BSN-DNP programs....heard they are trying to phase out the MSN programs which worries me a little!
  5. Mind if I ask where you are planning on attending this fall?!
  6. I have not heard back yet either! I keep calling and checking online compulsively! Renee I have heard great things about Loyola's program...and was kind of wondering if I should be doing an accelerated program as well! Lots of rumors flying around with the requirement to have a DNP to become a ARNP. Guess we will see what happens! I had my interview with Rush already, did not get accepted for pediatrics at UIC, and waiting to hear back from DePaul...this is killing me! I spoke with someone and they said wouldnt hear back until beginning of May.
  7. Thanks for sharing Renee, wow I am very impressed and sure that you will have no difficulty getting in! Where did you receive your bachelors degree at and have you heard back from Loyola yet?? I am graduating with a BA in Health and Human Physiology from the University of Iowa. I have taken three years of chemistry and struggled with all three years. I thought about going to school for Dentistry which required several courses of chemistry, only to discover that my passion was in Nursing and I only needed two chemistry courses. Needless to say all of the chemistry and upper level biology courses required for pre-dent really took a beating on my GPA. I took all of my courses and Iowa and have an overall 3.2 GPA, 3.8 major GPA. I also took the GRE with a score of 1000 and a 4.5 writing. I volunteered in the Emergency room at a Hospital, shadowed in Pediatrics Oncology and currently work at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the heart and vascular center scheduling. I also applied to UIC and Rush. UIC makes you choose your specialty prior to admissions, in which I chose pediatrics only to discover there are only 5 spots in the program. We are supposed to hear back next week but I think it is safe to say I will not be admitted to UIC. I have an interview at Rush on April 10th which I am very excited about! Just hoping to hear back from DePaul soon too! I know there will be a lot of competitive students and with my low GRE/GPA I am very nervous!
  8. Hello Everyone! I applied for the Fall 2012 cohort and wondering if I could get some tips from those who already had interviews. My interview is this upcoming Tuesday April 10th. Any advice or what questions the interviewer asked you would be greatly appreciated!!
  9. Hi Everyone! I applied for the Fall 2012 cohort for Depaul's MENP. I have been stalking admissions and they keep saying we will know if we are admitted by the end of April. Longest wait of my life! I have a couple questions for all other applicants, if you don't mind, would you guys want to share some information about eachother? Did anyone else apply for any other programs/ hear back from anywhere? What where your stats (GPA, GRE, etc...) Crossing my fingers that these next couple weeks fly by and we all hear good news!!
  10. Hi everyone :) I'm interested in applying to DePaul's MENP Fall 2012 session but just was curious for those of you accepted into the Fall 2011 what your GPA was. This is the only thing I am nervous about that could hold me back from being admitted. I know the program is competitive and was just wondering what the applicant pool looks like. Congrats to all of those admitted!! Alexis
  11. Hi everyone, I'm applying for the fall 2012 program and just was curious for those of you accepted what GPA you all had....i know the program is competitive and am just looking to see what i'm working with here. Very excited to apply at Depaul, UIC, and Rush. Any information on the program, or the average accepted student would be great! So glad I found this thread and congrats to all those admitted and best of luck on the next application people to those still trying to get in! :)
