The painful wait begins. Have you applied or heard anything?
Iowa2012, That sucks about UIC, sorry to hear that. I was going to apply but I know how competitive it is so I decided not to ha. I called DePaul maybe 2 weeks ago explaining my situation about having to know before May 1st and the person I spoke with said she would give me a call once decisions were made. I got a call from her today and she told me I was denied and the reason why. I guess that's why I already found out so you guys shouldn't worry!
Naysando, yeah I am still debating on Loyola and Res. I have a week to decide so I'm going to really think things through and hopefully make the right decision. Any advice would be helpful! :) Good luck, I really hope you get in!
Yeah I didn't think I was going to get into UIC but thought what the heck might as well apply. And congrats on your acceptance into your other programs!!! At least you have options :) I am waiting to hear back from Rush and Depaul too. Makes me nervous to think about eeeeek. Everyone keep eachother updated with when we hear back and good luck!!!
Yikes I am no help because I like both of those programs! I was planning for the past year to go to Res part time- had no doubts- was in constant contact with Juan and everything and then things change- they are moving further into the city and I decided to go into a full time program so I only applied to depaul and loyola. Res looks awesome in my opinion though and I always wonder if I should have applied (oh I also couldn't get that teas done in time which stopped me from applying). And loyola- sheesh- its loyola! Ranked like 50 in the country! Oldest Bsn program in Illinois...and well it's loyola!: )I guess the only thing you can really do is an old fashion pros and cons list based on your needs...I think both programs are great though. Are you planning on stopping at your Bsn? If not I know res offered tuition breaks on the msn/fnp for their employees if they hire you as a new grad (that rate is like 60% right) and I can't seem to find info if loyola hires their new grads and I think they do not offer tuition breaks until you have worked with them for a year(again kicking myself for missing the res deadline) so that is something to consider. But at res you do have to wear white pants : ) for me (dirt magnet) that idea freaked me out! LolSo all that said (sorry so long) make that list of where you want to go, how long you want to take to get there, who is closest, and who is a good fit....I think it's pretty amazing to have so many choices! Good luck and please let us know where you go...I'm curious now : )@iowa- I agree- regardless of where we go, we will all still be in the same boat, new nursing students, and I think this board will def come in handy when trying to survive the next 2-4 years! This is such a great resource and for me, the only place I can go to get good, honest, and educated information : ) we need to all use each other as future networks : )
Hi. I've been watching these postings for a while. I applied for fall 2012 as well and I am waiting anxiously for any official response! Does anyone else have the admitted students tab and immunizations notice on Campus Connect? Mine showed up Friday night. Good luck to everyone! Looks like there is a lot of talent out there.
wow congrats rcanel!
no changes for me- but i wasn't expecting it. like i said, i was told yesterday they were still undecided about me : (
soooo happy to hear someone got some good news though!
its like the lottery- you always wonder if *anyone* actually wins if you never hear about the winners!
congrats again!
Hey everyone!
I just recently joined. I applied for Fall 2012 and have the admitted students tab, as well as a congratulations on your acceptance when I click the welcome tab. does anyone else have that?? I called to see if that was correct because I hadn't received a letter yet and they said they couldn't tell me.
Depaul told me on the phone this morning that I had to finish my prerequisites and then be considered for Winter 2012. She said they had too many applicants apply this round and were taking the peoples applications that "showed promise" but weren't done with prereqs and moving them to the winter application process.

I'm pretty sure I check my email 1000 times a day. This anxiety is slowly killing me!
