College of Dupage letters mailed - Fall 2010

U.S.A. Illinois

College of DuPage has mailed out acceptance letters for Fall of 2010.

I haven't heard anything about orientation, but I think it is usually held in July. I haven't heard anything from the financial aid office either, and I'm starting to get a bit nervous.

I'm getting kind of nervous, too. Spring break is next week. If I don't hear anything when class starts back up after break, I think I'm going to email someone in the nursing program.

Orientation will happen before July. There needs to be enough time for background checks and ordering uniforms. I believe it will happen in April. Be patient, they'll let us know.

Would anyone mind sharing how many pre-reqs/gen eds you had completed prior to applying?

While you only have to have Chem & A&P 1 done, people with everything done or all but 1-2 classes by application deadline get more points toward acceptance.

No doubt who you are drugrep! I haven't seen you at all this semester; how is our resident ADHD/Schizoid genius boy doing? :p

Think about our mutual friend and you will know who this is. ;)

Hi all,

I was waitlisted to the COD RN program for Fall 2010. I have my bachelor's degree and completed most of the pre-reqs at COD. Does anyone know how long the waitlist is, or if it's typical not to admitted until August. Thank you!

Hello All, I was wondering for those that are accepted if you can share what your schedule looks like. I am a bit curious of how much nursing school will affect me and of course you lucky individuals!!!

Congrats by the way!!

For me, 1st semester. Clinical for 6 hours 1 day a week. Lab/Lecture 6.5 hours 1 day a week. Physical Assessment 2 hours 1 day a week.

If I am understanding. Your basically in school/clinical etc for like 3 days a week? Long days also? :)

Well thank you so much for answering my question. If anyone else can chime in it would really help settle my thoughts about the future.

I took CNA in spring 2010 with Mrs. Kas. She will be teaching over the summer. It was held at DuPage Co. Convalescent Center. She was a great teacher and DCC was an awesome place to do clinical.

I,too, was accepted to the Fall 2010 ADN program. Has anyone heard or received info about the orientation session for ADN?

Do you mind sharing what you had completed when you got accepted? Also, if you got in on the first try? Last ? How did you score on the pax?

I completed English, Math, Psych, Micro, A&P I+II, Nutrition, and Chem before I applied. I have a BA and transferred in Speech and Humanities. While I was waiting to see if I got in I took My CNA. My scores on the PAXRN were verbal-54,98 percentile; math-40, 99 percentile; science-50, 99 percentile and composite-156, 99 percentile. My overall GPA for courses taken at COD was a 4.0. I did get in on the 1st try. I took many of the prerequisites over from my BA days in order to get a better GPA. It was worth it!
