Anyone waiting to get into Moraine Valley's nursing program for Fall 2010?

Hi,

I just applied for the March 15th deadline at Moraine Valley Community College and was wondering if anyone else is on pins and needles like I am? I just decided about 5 months ago to apply, so I hurried up and became a CNA (I took a 3 week class), took my pre-reqs, but I only had time to take the TEAS test once :crying2: Overall I got a 94, but since MVCC only cares about science and math I got an 82%. Did anyone else calculate their scores? If so, do you mind sharing it? I think I am right on the borderline where it can go either way. I wish I had a higher score, but unfortuantely I do not. I was just curious...

well the nursing semesters are split into 8 week classes so its like having 2 semesters in one.....i think first eight weeks it was Mondays and Wednesdays 8-12 then 1-4 and Friday 12-2 and the second 8 weeks mondays 8-12 Tuesday clinicals and wed-fri 9-1....keep in mind thats for 2 sections of students the other 2 sections are a little different but similar[/quote']

Thanks =) That's not as bad as I thought, I wanted to make sure I could still get some work hours in. (If I am accepted, find out in a month and a half.) I really like how they changed the program so people can take the LPN test halfway through.

Now back to my BIO-180 homework, lol....

good luck...make sure you really study proportions and equations because the teas test is big on those

Thanks - I took the Teas 4 back in November and turned in my application that long ago. I have been going crazy for over 3 months now, and these last 3-4 weeks are killing me. I just really want to know if I got in for next semester, because that would help my family so much, my job right now is not stable and might go out of business in the next year or so. I got an 83.3% on the Science which it says is 97th percentile in the program, and 82.2 in Math, which it says is 84%, but I took the Teas 4 and most of the others (everyone after Dec 5th) took Teas 5. So I don't know how they will compare. I also did not have Bio 180 finished, because I'm in it now.

When will it be March 15th???

Help! I am going to be taking the teas exam in the next few weeks and I'm panicking! I haven't had standardize testing in a long time and I'm afraid I'm going to fail! I got the review book but is it really helpful??? Anyone who can help I'd greatly appreciate it!!!

Yes, the ATI book from the library is extremely helpful, everything that was on the test was in the book. It's a lot to study, but worth it. I'm going crazy myself, I applied for fall and I am waiting to find out if I got in or not!

Good luck to you!!! I'm applying in Fall so hopefully I'll start next Spring. I was all ready to go to this one nursing school in Chicago, until I found out that even WITH my financial aid, I'd still be graduating with over $40,000 in loans! I just couldn't do it. Atleast with Moraine, you can somewhat have a life during the program. So even if it takes me a while, I'll get in eventually :))))

I'm halfway done with my second semester....basically in this program you dont have a life most of the students work a max of 2 days per week and that still gets in the way of homework but I guess the hard work pays off :-) you just have to study hard because last week we had 6 students fail

Do not underestimate Moraine. It is hard! I have my BA already and decided to go back for nursing, and that was so much easier! Nursing is unlike anything I've ever studied before and I really cannot do the program any justice by trying to describe it. All I can say is that when they tell you at orientation that you'll have 40 hours of homework a week, they are not exaggerating. You will have no life while you are in school, other than working a few days a week. And I heard that will change by the second semester.

I got an acceptance letter today! :heartbeat Can't wait to be in the trenches, lol.

I received an acceptance letter to the fall 2011 program! whoo hoo!!!

I have been reading these threads for about 3 years now learning and absorbing as much as I can. Thank you so much for all your posts they have helped me more than youll know.

Good news is I have my acceptance letter from Moraine!!!! I am so happy I have worked so hard for that damn letter! The wait was torture but Im so thankful all my pre-reqs are done and I can concentrate on RN courses only!

The advisor told me that was the last semester that they will accept TEAS version 4 (which I had) and a lot of the students are having a hard time with the version 5.

Best of luck to everyone and I look forward to meeting all the Fall 2011 peeps at orientation!

Does anyone know the out of pocket cost for Health Restoration?
