Spiritual interventions...(When things happen we or the Dr. can't explain)

My story with out using names, started by my pt seeing my name on the white-board and started crying. My name is very uncommon, and it turns out her daughter's name was the same. My 92 yr old pt explained her daughter, with my name, had died a couple of months before. I explained to her that it was her daughter from heaven, who made sure I took care of her, because our uncommon name was the same. My patient stopped crying and was smiling. Just as I was leaving the room the on-call cardiologist came in and introduced herself...Well to my and my patient's surprise, she had the same uncommon first name. I knew then her daughter really was looking over her mother.

Please email me with any similar type stories.... I love the goose-pimples

I don't have a similar story, but that is definitely interesting... Sometimes it's not the clinical interventions that make all the difference.

Great story, I have one story where a pt. said, "I see a big dog next to you." and the family thought she was out of it. Then I thought to myself, wow, I also had a grandma that was into animal spirits and had passed 4 years ago and she had told me she had spirit wolves that will look over me after she is gone.

When I was a staff nurse in ICU one of my elderly patients was speaking to persons we could not see. A family member explained the persons to whom their loved one was talking had all died. My patient was speaking to her relatives in the order in which they had passed speaking to the most recent and working backwards. I believe she spoke to six family members. I would just have thought she was hallucinating had it not been for her visiting family member. I never forgot that story. I believe there are definitely things we do not understand. Remember the TV series Touched by an Angel?

For the longest time I would start to walk in a geriatric patient's room and she would wake and holler "look out for the dog!"
I would stop mid-step and lurch to the side in an attempt to avoid the non-existent? dog. I swear to you, that dang dog was real to me!
