Any hospice RNs work for more than 1 company?

Specialties Hospice

I currently work PRN for a local hospice agency here in Atlanta. Just wondering if it's ok to look at other hospice agencies simultaneously on a PRN basis.

Thanks in advance for your input.

In areas of high competition between agencies some will require a "no compete" contract that you must sign. They don't want proprietary materials to be shared by common employees.

We have a conflict of interest policy that does not allow employees to work in the same function for a different company.

My company just hired an RN that works for our competing hospital part time and for us she is PRN. Her plans are to ditch the other job, but she is worried about giving up the benefits. She's kind of waiting around for a full time position to open up with us.

Our new director does not like it much, but she was hired before the new director was hired. Mostly she doesn't like it because she's never available to work and train. You really need several days in a row to train instead of working one day this week, none the next, working a day the next week.

People work with several agencies all the time. That is how they meet their living expenses. I just learned that the hard way after being without work for close to a month for the third time in less than a year. Fed up with the eviction notice, I went and signed on with more agencies. Too bad they haven't given me work either.

nope. im on the south side of atlanta and they are all competitive and won't allow you to work for another hospice company. Now, if you work for a large company, you could work for another location, prn. does your company have an ipu unit where you could work prn? I've done that in the past.

Hi AtlantaRN & lbvarn, what agencies do you work? do you have a website or contact information you can share? thanks
