Is there Good Money for LPN's in Home Care

I was just wondering if there are home health agencies out there that pay pretty good for LPN's.

I am an LPN.

thanks!

I was well paid by a local home health agency that had union representation for the LVNs. The pay was at the range where LVNs should be paid. However, every other home health agency has paid less and some have lowered their rates of pay.

I started out at a little under $20/hour, live in South eastern PA

I've worked for different agencies in different states, always assigned to specific patients with set hours. The pay has always been better than what facilities offered, but the benies are not near as good. The agency I work for right now pays me $2.00/hr more than the next highest paying job I've ever had and I have reasonably good insurance options, but the copay is substantially higher than what I used to pay when working in LTC. I did have to negotiate for my starting wage as well as for my last raise. I believe a lot of it depends on what you can bring to the table: vent experience, dealing with "difficult families", lifting ability, etc. The money is there and it's not a constant battle against the clock and the visit by the state surveyor is like a chat with an old friend (of course you know your stuff and have your ducks in a row).

Thanks to all for the info!
