Back to the nursing home

I have to report that I'm going back to the nursing home to work.

I'll be working fri, Sat and Sunday (for now) and making more than I do in a week of home health.

I'm going to miss home health. I'll miss my pts.

But in the winter I'll have to drive my truck and at $2.00 a gallon I can't afford to be driving 4-600 miles a week and still turn a profit.

Sorry it didn't work out $2 a gallon!! Whew! and we thought we had it bad!

I often wonder what ever happened to all the alternative energy solutions that have been touted. One of the best was a methane converter for the car and since methane is a byproduct of breakdown of animal waste - well let's say the car ran on pig power!!!!

I understand you 100% Russell. One of the reasons I left. I like the Friday, SAT and Sunday Schedule. Is the place you are going close to you?

It's the same place I worked at before. About 23 miles away (not too far).

Good for you Russell and I wish you the best. renerian

Russell,

I wish you luck. I am new to the message board. I understand about the 600 miles a week and $2.00 / gal of gas.

The best of luck to you.

Certainly understandable Rusty!! If I had to do that kind of travleing I would've never lasted even if they paid me $5/mile!!

At least you will know what you are getting into by returning to the same place, and they know what they are getting in you too, a gem!

When I left the company I did I was easily putting on at leat 500 to 600 miles per week to cover 9 counties. Way to much travel.

Russell,

Thanks for the welcome. I can see that this is going to a very good information source. I am a registered nurse with several other letters of the alpabet soup behind my name. Remember the number of letters behind someones name does not necessarily mean they know everything. It only means they have been lucky to pass a test, and if they have a higher degree (MN, MSN) they have been taught where to find the information.

Aww.. that's really too bad, Rusty. I believe you were really enjoying the freedom of the great outdoors when you were able to go on two wheels. I'm sure you'll miss that as WELL AS your patients.

I hate it for you, but yeh.. we do understand. Bummers. Reckon they'll have a WELCOME BACK, RUSTY cake for you when you return? ;)
