About a month after her surgery, the lawsuit says, Gandhi violated federal privacy laws by sending an email to everyone at the office complaining that some employees were using too much health insurance and saying that would raise the company's premiums significantly. Attached to the email was an insurance company's confidential report about Gaver's breast cancer, showing she had used about $83,500 in benefits, the lawsuit said.

This article is about an employee terminated. What struck me was the part I have quoted. A doctor did this. If my records were emailed out like this I would not just be suing about my job. Yikes.

Nail the bahstid.

That is the kindest thought I had when I read this.

Somehow I doubt he would want his Visa or Marster Card Bill emailed all over. I do know one doctor who got caught about his prostitutes by the bills. I suspect this doctor has enough money. Blaming a sick person for insurance rates does nothing to lower them. But it might cause him a Fed. problem.

Prostitutes have credit card machines?

This is sickening. How can a doc even access that information? Did the insurance company not violate HIPAA by providing it?

Specializes in MDS/ UR.

They call themselves escort services.

The only way I could see that he would have access to this info is if they were self insured and an insurance company was the administrator. Otherwise I would think the insurance company was also in hot water.
