Ever program calculates eligibility differently, so you really need to contact the program you're interested in to best estimate your chances. My GPA was 3.7 and I only got into my program as an alternate. We only had to take HESI as progress and exit exams.
Minimum requirements won't guarantee you anything unless the school accepts students "first come, first served".

Well I'm not so sure I'm going to get in this year and they only do acceptance in the fall so I would have to wait till 2018 fall just to start up, but there's no telling if I won't get in that year eaither. My college goes off point system so every year you apply you get like 10 pts, and an A is worth 4 B-3, also having a CNA is worth so many points also, should I just get my CNA and score better next year? Or apply at other local colleges with my current score?

It's also worth mentioning, that it COULD be okay to have if the applicant pool has on average similar GPA and HESI score as you do.

I reside in Bay Area, CA. I have had a few friends that had the minimum requirements for a program, went to a wait list, and got accepted a week before the semester started. I am guessing a lot had dropped out last minute from acceptance to other programs or changed career choices.

There are two different questions here:

Is a "low" HESI A2 score sufficient for admission?

Is a "low" HESI A2 score sufficient for SUCCESS in nursing school?

In many programs the admissions are so competitive that the real question is .... "How does my score compare to the others in the applicant pool?" Applicant pools vary over time. Thus, what might be admitted one time, may not be admitted at another time BASED ON THE COMPETITION.

My greater worry for you is whether this score suggests that you are sufficiently prepared to be successful in nursing school. There are many ways to skin this cat. Here is a simple way.... look at your READING sub-score. If that score is weak..... FIX YOUR READING SKILLS!!!! Many students gain admission to nursing programs and then struggle mightly due to poor reading skills. Take the free self-assessments at rocketreader.com to get an objective measure of your reading skill.

UPDATE: I got my letter from the program , and it told me I met requirements, but the applicants that applied exceeded the number of available slots. My nursing director told me my chances of getting in next year are much greater! So I will just work on bachelor pre reqs this fall. And thanks again for messaging me guys, I will deffintly do some studying up in reading and vocabulary for next years HESI. I wana be able to pass the program like you said *grumpy* I'm also the only one in my family to go to college so I will need all your help cause my family has not a clue of my college struggles, lol, I will be back on here for your guys help! Thank you!!!

I scored an 817 on the HESI. Should I test now for the NCLEX-RN? I have failed twice, have bought 12 review books, and paid for 3 Reviews. What should I do please?
