Hello everyone I am new to this site and had a couple of questions. I am in my final semester of nursing school and will be taking the HESI-RN exit exam in a couple of weeks. I am already really paranoid because I only have a couple of attempts to pass it with a min. score of 850. I would like to know if anyone out there has taken it already who could tell me how the exam is and offer me any tips for successfully passing it.
I took the Exit HESI 4/24 and at my school we had to get >850 wih only 2 attempts. Thankfully, I did pass on my first attempt, but it wasn't easy!!! To be honest, I would say many of questions ALL of the answer choices seemed correct.....YOU HAVE TO READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY & TAKE YOUR TIME. We had a total of 160 questions and 4 hours to complete the exam.
I prepared by reading every single HESI hint and using the Saunders Comprehensive Review book (blue one). With the Saunders book, I basically did all the tests at the end of each section and if I missed a ton of questions, I would go back through and read the chapter outline of the Saunders book and the HESI review book. I found Saunders to be very very helpful and would suggest that you do as many questions from that book as possible.
IMO, that test was difficult and intimidating, BUT DEFINITELY DOABLE!!!! Like I said before, take your time and read every single word in the question...determine exactly what is being asked and make sure your answer choice MAKES SENSE!!!!!!!!
Take care and good luck to you!!!!
