  1. go to hesitest.com website. They sell practice exams. It's not exactly like the hesi test at school but very very close.
  2. i know how you feel...I also failed nclex on first try with 264 questions-ran out of time. It was hard that I cried a lot. Lucky for me, I passed the 2nd time with only 75 questions. I used Kaplan, Saunders, Hurstreview.com, and Hesi CD for the 2nd time. Also, I took my time and tried to analyze and apply the strategies (Kaplan and Saunders)to the first 75 questions. I was able to eliminate 2 out of 4 choices, then re read the question and pick between the two that best answer the question. I think it took me 2hours to finish the 75 questions. I know you know your contents well (or you would not reach that far the first time) Maybe you just need to practice test taking skills. Also, if you are anxious, it will affect your thinking ability. Try to take deep breaths every now and then during the test to relax your nerves. Meanwhile, exercise and be good to yourself-and stop being hard on you. Take care
  3. try hurstreview.com and kaplan complete course. good luck. try to think positive and cheer up. don't let depression take your confidence away. you have the brain or you would not graduate nursing. you just have to learn test taking skills, how nclex test makers think, and a good drill on application problems. I suggest you work in the hospital even just as a part time CNA to be familiar with hospital environment, procedures and interaction with patients and real situations that might help you with the test. Read review books but focus more on answering sample test. Eventually, your speed and accuracy will increase. Relax and be good to yourself. Exercise and take care of your health. Family and friends are good support, but they do not really know what your are going through. You made a good choice coming to this site. Soon you will be a licenced nurse and be able to laugh at this. Take care.
  4. I ran out of time at 264...and failed. The board of nursing score came to me and i do need to study more on some areas. I also know that they use the "last 60 rule" which made it harder to pass. I cried...and then...studied again. I will be re taking this the end of September. Let's wish each other good luck. if you feel rotten...or if you need someone who understand you...write me...we could be each other's support.
  5. to all of you. i appreciate the kindness each of you expressed. it meant a lot. I will be going to a review called martinreview in chicago next week. perhaps that would help. thank you all. i do not know how or what to tell my friends and family...well...i guess they will know somehow...but what is a good respond.
  6. This is the lowest i had ever felt in my life. This is so humiliating....I almost wish i am dead...feel sorry for my husband...he sacrificed so much to send me to nursing school...and i can't help him yet. I have no energy to study. i am so discouraged. especially when i read the statistics...i learned that the chances of failing nclex again is so great that only about 5% pass the second time. we are so tight on money and can't afford to waste more time...please help...somebody...just to talk to me...i do not know what to do...i cried so much and i get so overwhelmed trying to study again. i admit i am an average student...i got mostly B's in school and...yes about 4 C's. Is there hope? I tried Kaplan--partly...i have other books. any suggestions? anybody.
  7. I am terribly depressed today. I took the nclex yesterday and i think i reached 254 (or 264?) and I ran out of time. I know they will judge my test differently for running out of time. last 60 questions rule...the more i read about it the more discouraged i become. i now think i failed. I am unable to do anything and there's this lump on my throat...i do not know how to face a lot of people if I fail...does anyone know anyone in my situation with a happy ending?
