  1. hello, would anyone be kind enough to post here the names of those who made it? I and some former classmates took it in june but we live in the far end of metro manila. Our utmost gratitude!
  2. by littlelulu_920 i am applying for crnbc and i'd like to ask whether i can use my sister's credit card for payment of the application or should i pay thru bank draft since it will be under my name? thank you in advance for the reply.:) hi, i too, applied for registration with crnbc. sent my documents may 7 upon confirmation that my school docs are ready. i paid thru my visa and was debited may 21. i think its kinda safe, amount debited was 11,000+ pesos (phil. currency) equivalent to ca$262.
  3. hi everyone, i accidentally logged in to uscis' website just last night to verify my friend's denial of her petition. i was prompted to check my own case also and i was so surprised to see this: receipt number: srcxxxxxxxxxx application type: i140, immigrant petition for alien worker current status: approval notice sent. on january xx, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this i140 immigrant petition for alien worker. please follow any instructions on the notice. if you move before you receive the notice, call customer service. my question is, why did i not receive an e-mail from the uscis to notify me of the approval, nor did i get any correspondence from my agency? had i not logged in to uscis website accidentally, i wouldn't have the slightest thought that my case has been approved. and when i checked the processing dates of texas service center, they are 8 months behind. current processing is still aug. 2007. my receipt notice, which happens to be my priority date is april 2008. what do i do now? it has been 2 months since my case was approved. i know i have to call my agency, however, it is weekend so meantime, i am seeking the advise of everyone who can share his/her thoughts. can ms. suzanne or silverdragon enlighten me please? thank you very much!
  4. Beneficiary's name should be VERMONT SECRETARY OF STATE. I doubt if they will accept VT BOARD OF NURSING. You can request the bank to change it though.
  5. Hello! Anyone nurse from this hospital? Can you please share to me how to get employment in this institution? Is it the usual process, or does anyone need to have a "padrino"? My sister is very interested, first of all it's a government hosp. and we heard pay is somehow above the others. Secondly, its very near her place. Thank you!
  6. the process of being licensed in canada is expensive, no matter where you're coming from; there is no way around the regulations and their attendant fees devised by the canadian nurses' association, the provincial colleges and immigration. if you are having financial concerns about the process already, they will only get worse unfortunately. an estimate of the cost of moving from the philippines to canada to work as a nurse conservatively would exceed $20,000. no employer will subsidize a move to any great degree. when i moved to alberta from manitoba 5 years ago, i was out-of-pocket nearly $10,000 and i've been a canadian my whole life. you'll have to decide if you'll be able to recoup the money it will cost to make the move, and if it's really something you should do. thanks for the prompt reply, janfrn. do you really think that to be registered in canada costs this much? i have gone thru the schedule of fees but i dont think all would sum up to $20,000. i understand that carna assessment costs about $200+, sec assessment $150, the crne fee and the carna rn permit fee much higher but not to reach $20k, unless maybe i will have to take other courses and refresher programs? i am already done with the english test so that could be deducted from the big amount needed. would you advise me to send my application to carna already so from there i would know if i will be able to continue with the process or not? thanks again.
  7. hi, good day! i would like to ask if SEC is a must for all internationally educated nurses? i am educated in the phils, graduated in oct 2005 after having worked as medical representative in a well- known pharma company for 10 years. i now work as a staff nurse in a prestigious medical center in our country, though i dont have lengthy and significant nursing experience yet, since i've only been here for months. Is there a way that SEC can be waived? What are the conditions/intances where this is possible? You see, i'm asking this because of financial reasons. I am already planning of sending my application to CARNA (province of alberta), for my credentials assessment to be started but before that, i would like to have this concern addressed. I already e.mailed CARNA abt this question but to now, havn't received any reply yet. Thank you very much!
  8. Thanks, suzanne and everyone. I was able to talk to her a few days ago. I think she is seriously considering it and if things really work well, the guy will (or might) come over to the Phils, get married here then go with the process. That would even make things easier and faster, right? If i am not mistaken, in a matter of 2 or 3 months after the wedding, my friend can already follow him in the US.
  9. Hi all, Good day! I have a friend who has a US citizen fiancee. The boyfriend is already offering her a marriage. She initially declined because she was focused on passing all her foreign exams and wanted to get to the US her own way and effort. Now that she has passed NCLEX and has acquired a visa screen and with the problem of retrogression, she's starting to reconsider the proposal. She is asking my opinion but but I am not very knowledgeable with the process. Will getting married to an American citizen speed up the process? To my understanding she'll get petitioned in a matter of months and she does not need to sign up with an employer while she is here in the Phils. Am i righT? How long does it usually take before she can leave the country? Thanks for the replies.
  10. pardon my ignorance... i would like to know what ancillary nursing is all about. im a newly licensed nurse and i've not had any clinical exposure. Im asking this because my friend was hired as ancillary nurse in St Luke's Hospital. How does it differ from a staff nurse, and how is it in terms of employment prospects in US hospitals? Thanks!
  11. Check also Continental Airlines' Guam package. Its around $498 all in. 3days 2 nights. If you choose Grand Plaza Hotel, buffet breakfast is also included, even upon arrival. 1. just be straightforward in answering the immigration officer. tell him/her that you're going there to take the NCLEX. There's no problem with that. There's going to be a problem if you try to fabricate things. 2. I have been to and from the US every once in a while and so far have not had any problem with my being a US-RN. I think it all boils down to your intentions. If you go there just to have a vacation, fine. But if you intend to seek employment then you're in trouble. Good luck!
  12. [quote=kathykaye;2156813]actually, it is P3900.. but the applicant can reimburse that fee once absorbed by the hospital... there is also a training allowance which can be recieved when the applicant is already hired by the institution... yes, the training is 3 mos. and it's a good hospital experience... after 3 mos, there will be a graduation. certificates wont be given unless you finish the 2-year contract... their reason is, why would they train someone if they wont become their staff... they dont do this before. however applicants leave after the 3 mos training so they made a bond of P36000 once you refuse on the job offer within 7 days after graduation from the training... they have a very good standard...and the training is worthy.. the hospital is accredited twice by JCIA (joint commission international). there are only 2 hospitals accredited by JCIA in the Philippines namely st lukes medical center and the medical city.. goodluck.. so you mean the 3-month volunteer training is actually a pre-employment training? What happens if one refuses the job offer? Will the P36K bond be forfeited? As this seems to be a pre-employment training, what are the requirements? Do they accept applicants over 35 y/o? I tried calling their HR and they asked me to get connected to another department then to another department which really confused me.
  13. for any state participating in the quick result its always 48 hrs after you took the exam. it doesn't necessarily have to be his/her own credit card to be used to access the quick result. You can ask a friend or relative who has a mastercard or visa then just pay in peso. Anyway its just $7.95 or 380 pesos vs. the relief of knowing how well you performed.
  14. hello! Thanks for all the responses. I received my VSC via DHL ysterday. What a relief. I hope and pray we'll also find relief from this burden of retrogression very soon. Keeping fingers crossed!
  15. Hi, case is true with me. I just opened the mail a few days ago having come from an out-of-town vacation. You mean we really have to renew the license even if it was only isued some 2 months ago? and pay $95 again plus $25 late renewal? Mine was issued feb 1, 2001. But may i ask, why is it that in the original license it's indicated that license expiration is March 31, 2009?
