Waiting for local Army Hospital

Specialties Government

Published

I interviewed at a local Military hospital and was told I would be called that day. I did my follow up letter but did not hear back yet. I have been told that it can take some time from interview to offer and the Manager did say that the recruiter would be doing any and all contact after our conversation. How long should I wait? Any tips?

Specializes in Vents, Telemetry, Home Care, Home infusion.

Hi,moved to Government / Military Nursing forum for best chance member response.

Specializes in EMT, ER, Homehealth, OR.

Being a federal position it can take 6 months or longer to fill.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

We have people coming on board now at my Army hospital who interviewed in November. Has the position closed on USAjobs yet? I think that unless it's one of those job listing that is always open, the civilian personnel office they won't contact you until the job announcement closes and all applicants are interviewed. It can take a while due to background investigations and other Federal requirements. But with the pay and benefits, it is usually worth the wait!

Thanks for the comments, just to update, my resume was forwarded to HR from the manager that wanted to hire me April 15th and I got the call May 1st with a tentative offer May 4th. I don't mind that it takes awhile just grateful to hear something back.

Congrats! :)

Thanks! I have not done enough post to reply to messages but I appreciate the feedback. I would not mind a longer wait to start employment due to summer plans but I am willing to compromise to get started. My past experience I have been an SNT at a larger VA hospital and loved the population and even the nurses. Reading thru older post I have seen that some had the tentative offer rescinded due to the position being cut etc. I am hoping to be able to sign the dotted line in the next few months.
