Va App status "Eligible sent to selecting officials"

Specialties Government

Can someone tell me if the status on my VA application status states " Eligible sent to selecting officials" is a good thing? I think it is but I wanted opinion/thoughts from seasoned:redbeathe LPN's and RN's VA nurses ( I am an LPN). I applied for jobs at the VA before but I never seen a status like this one. I am soo excited. I finally got all the necessary paperwork in :); I guess before I was always missing something grrr, and no one could tell me in the office what I was missing. I do currently have 13 yrs of service with the government but not as a nurse. Now that I am an LPN, I want to stay with the government and not loose all my benefits.

Please give me your thoughts and opinions on this please, I will very much appreciate it!!! :D

Thank you DIVA-RNMOM24!! It makes me feel better that I am not the only one in this process boat right now. I haven't had the chance to call the nurse recuiter but I will be adamit about calling her today. Good Luck to you too :).

I am a postal employee and finishing up my BSN next year. I wonder if being a federal employee gives me an advantage to get an RN job at the VA. I am really interested. Good luck to you.

From what I understand it should make it easier since you are a federal employee. What I would do is some research on the subject. Look thru the PO regs and see if there is anything about transfering to another federal agency.

Just a timeline that I had

I applied end of May 2009, interviewed first week in June, I called the nursing recruiter in August, and my first time at the VA was Dec, 20th 2009...almost a year ago...hang in there...it is worth it!

Wow, that is a very longtime!! Thank you BVFD I will be patient and hang in there. I did call the nurse recuiter twice and left a message. Unfortunately, no reply back. I don't want to bug her and loose my chance on getting employment there, so I will just lay low and wait a few more months before I attempt to make another call to her.

Thank you,

give it a week or two, than call the nurse recruiter again. i would not wait months. i honestly was not really looking for a new job, just applied for the heck of it… that's why i did not follow up with it in a timely manner.
