Can I join the NAVY or AIRFORCE???

I'm getting my associates degree to become an RN, and I plan to get my RN to BSN degree as well. The problem is I want to become an Aviator in the Navy or a pilot in the Air Force but you have to have a bachelors degree. Will the RN to BSN count as a bachelors degree to them or not????

Yes a BSN counts as a bachelor's degree in the Air Force. They require a Bachelor's for nurses to apply, so as long as you have the BSN you're fine, they won't take Associates. If you want to go in as an Aviator though, are you not planning on using your nursing degree and education? And are you comfortable with that?

Yeah, why are you bothering with the nursing program at all? They offer bachelor's degrees in aviation-related fields. Get pilot training and work as a pilot prior to applying to improve your chances.

Perhaps the author was working towards a degree in an area of interest and is pursuing a separate career of interest. Hats of to you! I'd LOVE to be a military aviator, but alas I'm physically disqualified due to color vision. I'd drop nursing (even advanced practice) like a hot rock to fly!

I agree with Jfratian, if nursing is only a way point, get your Bach in something else. You can work as a nurse to finance your Bachelors. I imagine a recruiter would find a science degree more attractive than an BSN. Fly, fight, win!
