Apartments near Walter Reed or Fort Brag, NC

Hi Everyone,

I am picking my 1st duty station and it's either going to be Walter Reed or Fort Brag, NC. Does anyone know any great apartment complexes or great places to live near these two locations? Thanks!!!

I lived in Sanford NC which is about 30-40 miles west of FT. Bragg. Lived in Mallard Cove Apts. Was not on Active Duty at the time but there was some AD folks living there then.

Ft Bragg has TONS of apartment complexes available. Since it's a military town, the leases are available monthly and annually since of the necessity. Apartments on Reilly Road are nice/mid-level. The Northeast region of Fayettevile is the upscale Officers area (typically speaking), the south is a lot of the 'town folk' (haha you know, the 500 people that aren't actually associated with the base but live there for some ungodly reason). There's a few on the All American Highway that are really nice/clean/secure. I'd definitely suggest looking for one that is a gated community. As ironic as it sounds, crime in a military town is really common. So, my suggestion is, look on Reilly Road, All American, Cliffdale, and/or in the eastern part of town. 82nd Airborne is close to my heart (my brother's there & deploys in a few weeks...) so let me know if you have any more questions
