I am a nurse who has 6 yrs. in LTC. Well I am now going back to facility I was working at, only in assisted living area. Could you give me some feedback of the wage you make? I had left to work at hosp. in med-surg, but the stress was unbearable. not worth my health! Thanks to all of you. :):) :p

I am a LPN..I made anywhere from 13-16 bucks/hr......

I am an LPN in a LTC facility, been there 5years and make 18.20 per hour

I'm a brand new LPN~ I make $14.25 hr.

Kaycee,

Did you start? Do you like it? I loved assisted living. I found that it is holistic nursing; everything from feet to emotional support. I even counseled on a resident upset at her dining companions who were always arguing. I did not get involved, lol, but encouraged her to set limits at the table and not to pick sides. I served coffee at dinner and spoke to every resident. Some only spoke up then, like the woman who always told me at dinner (in hushed tones) that she needed a physic and she hadn't had a BM since she was there, which was two years. I trouble shooted everything from incontinence issues to fears of leaving their rooms. Validation Therapy was incredibly helpful. The pay was around $16/hr, RN, but that was a few years ago, and I would ask for more now.

Good luck,

I work in England and I get £4.30Pence an hour.

It seems that for the job that we do here in England as Care Assistants in America as CNA'S u get a lot more.

I feel that the money that we get is little for what we have to do. I think that it should be at least £5 an HOUR.

I live in the Detroit area the wages at my facility for LPN's are $18 for new LPN's and $21 for experienced.
