When one of my resident's has any instance of bleeding (i.e. skin tear) what are the meds I should be on the lookout for in terms of increased risk for bleeding?

Also keep in mind that sulfas, macrolides, quinolones, and dilantin can increase INR in pts who are on Coumadin.

Also, there is a new medication out for use in place of coumadin call pradaxa. We have had two residents recently started on it and have had GI Bleeds. According to their doctor and literature, it cause 20% more gi bleeds than warfarin.
