Trying for Gwinnett Tech Fall 2013

I'm greatly surprised I got in. My gpa was a 3.47 or something and I scored a 81 on the Kaplan. I'm going to accept it but I think this is my plan B at the moment. Hopefully I'll get into PA school this fall. I like nursing but I think PA suits me a lot better.[/quote']

I'm considering trying for KSU accelerated nursing program as well. My calculated GPA for their pre-reqs 3.7 and I think I can nail the TEAS. However, KSU is pretty expensive compared to GT and I hear the accelerated program isn't recommended by nurses who have done it.

I'm just not sure if it's probably better to do gwinnett tech's associates program and then bridge to a BSN later (and maybe a masters later). I'm a bit fearful about the chances that nursing schools won't accept a bridge from gwinnett tech. Anyone look into this? I'll prob call a lot of potential bridging schools and figure it out I guess.

I'm also not looking forward to 4 semesters and 4 months. I wish the nursing program continued through the summer. I'm a state of confusion and mixed feelings at this point .

LOL you are a guy right? I had a conversation with a guy who stated his brother was accepted but that he was interested in PA as his first choice. Unless its a big coincidence, you also said you were interested in PA. So is it a coincidence or are you ( the persons name start with an N) brother??

Has anyone heard if we need laptops for our classes or what kind of computer programs/access we might need for care plans & things? My computer is a dinosaur and I wasn't sure if I needed to upgrade before I start in the fall ( while I still have income)

I'm not sure rednurse. I wonder if tablets will work too (weighs less and more compact). Also does anyone know what color our scrubs are and when we should get them? I need to pace myself financially and tackle as much as I can this summer...

Lol trust me I only knew it was you because of that PA comment. You see how easily people can incriminate themselves LOL you can use my books. Ill give Dollar Billz ( that's what he calls himself) and he will pass them off to you. If for some reason they use a new edition, then you can decide if you want to use the books or not. New editions usually only have slight variations though. Foundations of Nursing and Pharmacology are the first classes you will take. So just message me and let me know when you would like the books.
