Hi, I just relocated here from VA in August after I graduated this past May. It was a little challenging to get my foot in the door at the HR depts but once I interviewed, I had my choice of jobs. What are of nursing are you interested in?

Peds ER definitely look into Children's Healthcare of Atlanta because they have a lot of openings in their ER.

Mother/Baby? Northside Hospital also has a lot of openings and are so short they are paying time and half +15/hour (after your off orientation that is!!!)

Good luck and congradulations to you. Welcome to ATlanta!

I work Mother-Baby at Northside Hospital. I started my orientation in August and just finished about a month ago. They have a great orientation program! And what the other poster said is true. We are very short staffed and they have great incentives to work extra shifts.

You can PM me for more information. I'd love to help you out any way I can.

Hey there,

I am also interested in moving to Atl from Tallahassee, Florida. Which hospitals would you recommend for L/D or ER, starting pay and what's the cost of living in ATL. Any info would be appreciated

Do any of these hospitals in atlanta offer relocation assistance? Does anyone know about Piedmont Hospital or is Grady and Northside the best as far as pay rates? I just want to make sure that I can afford to live in a nice area which isnt as far out as Kennesaw or Alpharetta etc

Grady is paying the highest so far BUT they offer no benefits. CHOA(Children's) or Emory pay is as good as it gets, around $22+/hr. Peidmont is hard to get into the ED, but CHOA offers a residency program. I never found anyone who was actually willing to pay relocation. There are just too many exp. RN here in ATL right now.

Hope this helps.

I work @ Northside and they offer up to $2000 relocation assistance. I moved from DC and got the full amount. They are pretty compatible pay rate-wise around here and offer internships for new grads.

Why is Northside Hospital having a RN shortage? Are the working conditions decent?

My mom works there and has been trying to discourage me from coming there because their benefits (health/dental etc...) arent as good as other hospitals. I currently work at CHOA and so far their benefits have been great especially when coming to retiring but the pay is horrible
