Piedmont New Grad nurse Residency 2014

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello everyone,

I wanted to start this thread because I am very interested in the Piedmont New Grad nursing residency program summer/fall 2014 in Atlanta. It will be nice if you could share your experience or share your thoughts about anything. Did anyone apply for the Summer/Fall program yet?

I just got a call today for an interview on the April 21st with my first choice CV/Tele!! Anyone else hear anything?

How did your interview go?

The interview itself went well I think. It was just like you said behavioral questions with 2 scenarios, no math test. However, I was 3 minutes late arriving to the employment center because I got lost. They may not consider me at all because of it, I think. I'm grateful, they still allowed me to interview. I'll post if I hear anything. Good luck to everyone!

Same here. I frequent Allnurses a lot so I'll post good or bad news as well. Have you applied anywhere else?

No, I'm trying to focus on California as I cant afford to keep coming back for interviews. However, if I dont hear anything in 6 months, then I'll focus here again. I did apply for GA license already so that will help later on.

I totally understand! Do you have children? I ask because the move from California to Georgia is a big transition. Definitely good luck in your career. :-)

I don't. I have family here so the transition wouldn't be too bad if I had to move here. They're excited for me and would welcome me with open arms. Good luck to you too!

Hi! I recently applied for Piedmont's residency program. About how long did it take for them to call you after submitting your application?

Hello. I applied March 28, and received a call April 8. What about you? What program did you apply to?

I applied the second week of April but haven't heard anything yet. I applied to the CV/Tele.

Have you heard anything since the interview?

Have you applied to other places in Atlanta yet?

They did tell me that interviews would extend into the second week of May. If you are extended an offer, the recruiter will call you. If not, you will receive an automated rejection email. So I am waiting patiently. I applied to Athens Regional and the recruiter sent me a questionaire to fill out, but I have not heard back and that was in early March I believe. I applied to North East Ga, and was called for a phone interview, but received a rejection letter soon after. I applied to Gwinnett Medical and was invited to the open house, but never received a call to interview. I also applied to Dekalb where I work as a tech in the float pool, but my status says not selected because I do not have a BSN. I am going to talk to the recruiter because as an employee they should at least interview me. I am heading to an open house at Rockdale hospital this Thursday from 1 to 5. I basically applied everywhere I could. I know it's competitive and since I only have an ADN with only 9 months of health care experience (excluding nursing school) I do not stand out on paper! But if I was given a chance to interview in person, they would see I would make a great contribution to the nursing field. :) So I am confident, I'll get a call from Piedmont. I am claiming it in God's name. What about you? ? (Sorry for long speech)

I got a call from NE GA that all residencies were filled by internal candidates. I've applied to residencies at Well Star, Houston Perry, Atlanta Med Ctr, Children's Hospital in Atlanta, Central GA, and St Francis & have not heard back. Has anyone heard from any of these hospitals? I'm in PA & looking to relocate to GA. I graduated last May, passed my boards in June & can't even get a phone interview in PA! Everyone wants a BSN & I have a ADN. I'm starting my BSN in 2 weeks :)

Well that is great that you are continuing your education. I plan on starting online courses in January since I graduate in May! I am going to stay optimistic. Something will pull through. Seems like it is just as competitive in PA! Crazy!!!
