GPC Fall 2013 letters

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I can't believe it. I have read in the past I wouldn't hear until the end of March or April to know if I was accepted. To my very happy surprise, I got my letter in the mail today! Let the games begin.....anyone else here from GPC? Good luck to you all!

Runsalot,

Are you working while in nursing school? When do you graduate?

Yes. I work about 20 hours a week. And may 2014. I am a year in front of you. Most people work. At least at little bit.

What do you find to be the hardest thing/issue to deal with in nursing school? BTW, I appreciate your advice. Sorry if I am asking too many questions.

Each person has their own struggles in NS. Best advise. Dont be afraid to ask for help.and Take advantage what the school offers. Go to the tutorial lab. Those ladies are great, and can help a ton. Especially early one. NS test questions are totally different. They have a ton of books you can use in the lab to help you prepare.

Spend time in the Skills lab. You want to pass your skill on the first attempt. But it takes time to learn how to do the skill how they want you to do the skill. But if you dont pass on the first attempt.. dont stress too much.. just make sure you get one of the instructors to help you one on one.

Use your adviser if you get below 76 on a test.

The school has peer mentors.. (some one from my class is a mentor with someone from your class) request one.

But you will do great.

Runsalot,

I appreciate the advice....feel like being a mentor to an entering nursing student? :nurse:

Just request one at orientation. They have a system for pairing up people. :). You might want someone that lives close to you. Or with kids Ect..

So I'm really curious what clinicals will be like...is there a lot of hands on stuff your first semester? I'm kind of nervous and don't know what to expect since I have no history in the health field.

I just wanted to say Hi to my fellow Fall 2013 nursing classmates! I was really shocked to find out I got in. Only because I found out April 29. I have been out of town and guess I replaced my mail. BUT best wishes to all!!! :)

Welcome VictoriaFall13 and congratulations! =)
