Mg100 they always seem to do things at the last minute. We didn't even know our schedule for the summer until abt 3 weeks ago. If I where you I would keep my schedule open bc there's always something in addition to class time and clinical time you have to do like: check offs, practice for check offs, simulation lab, ATI testing etc...it's alot and they should get better about telling students things in advance bc they have family and responsibilities they will have to work around. Just my 2 cents.

Ok, good to know! Thanks for the info, I will just be prepared for anything. So are you in the bridge program? Good luck to you, only two semesters to go!
Hey everyone, I found the fundamentals book online for 75.35 shipping included at Echo Point Books.

Hey ladies! I'm new to this site, so forgive me if this has been answered previously.
I was accepted for Fall 2012 at GPC, and aside from filling out the survey, sending in my acceptance letter, and paying the $105, things have been pretty quiet in terms of communication from GPC. Have any of you received any emails/tips on what to do to prepare for this fall? Also, how many of you have taken the CPR class already? Was thinking if we could sign up for one together it might be a neat way for us to meet one another before the craziness of nursing school sets in. So excited!!!

I have not heard anything from them, either. I did the drug and background check, and ordered the mandatory textbooks from Amazon (mostly used). Still need to do the CPR and physical.
I am concerned about the orientation. I will be in New Jersey at a family reunion all that week. The houses were rented back in December, and the dates will not change. It was going to work out perfect - one of the only two weeks that both GPC and DeKalb county are both on break. They said attendance was "imperative", but then they said skip it if you have a final, so it couldn't be THAT important. What were they thinking of, putting orientation in the middle of summer break?
Do we need to wear uniforms for anything but clinicals? I am wondering how many to buy.
Watashi, I recommend buying at least two uniforms. I was in an Lpn program and we had to order two uniforms, sometimes that didn't seem like it was enough.
