  1. Hey everyone! I've been accepted to nursing school this fall (2012) and was curious if any of you plan to try and pursue a medical job while in school. I've heard of people taking on low-paying positions in order to familiarize themselves with the hospitals they hope to work at after graduation, and up their chances of being hired. To any of you who have done this, or are thinking of doing this, any tips? I live in the Atlanta area, and Grady Memorial is my dream dream dream hospital. Any tips on how to get my foot in the door while in nursing school? Thanks so much!
  2. I'm right there with you! I'm a list-maker, and a planner, and it is KILLING ME to not have a detailed schedule in my hands right now as to what this fall will bring. They basically sent my acceptance letter in March with everything I needed to do/buy before Orientation in July and have been quiet since. And of course because I am checklist obsessed I have already completed 90% of the things we need to do by August. The idea of 3 months of down-time almost makes me feel antsy. (I know...it's totally a problem. (: ) I plan on brushing off the ol' A&P book when I get the urge to "do something nurse-y", and perhaps read up on medical terminology. Which at this rate means I'll know both those books backwards and forwards before August. Hahaha. Best of luck, and I'll probably see you a lot on these boards in the coming months. :)
  3. Hey ladies! I'm new to this site, so forgive me if this has been answered previously. I was accepted for Fall 2012 at GPC, and aside from filling out the survey, sending in my acceptance letter, and paying the $105, things have been pretty quiet in terms of communication from GPC. Have any of you received any emails/tips on what to do to prepare for this fall? Also, how many of you have taken the CPR class already? Was thinking if we could sign up for one together it might be a neat way for us to meet one another before the craziness of nursing school sets in. So excited!!!
