U.S.A. Georgia

I have an overall GPA of 2.25, my program GPA is a 3.15...i got a D in my human anatomy lecture but re-took it with an A. I have yet to take the teas. However the requirements at GPC are....min. 2.0 overall GPA, 2.7 in program GPA 2.7 in biology. However i was previously studying in business administrations so i have around 5 W'S and have failed only one class. What are my chances of getting accepted? Has anyone gotten accepted with similar scores/ similar circumstances?

So once again, overall GPA: 2.25 (2.3 with this upcoming A)

Program GPA: 3.15 (with only one re-taken course )

Bio GPA:3.5 (I'm also not sure if the previous D in A&P will be included in the calculations...)

requirements:

Overall GPA: min. 2.0

Program GPA 2.7

Bio GPA:2.7

Taking Speech online is what a lot of my friends did!! I'm taking Ethics and Religion they are not apart of GPC's curriculum....but I know they will come in handy for my Bachelor's degree. Critical thinking is a requirement for a Bachelor's as well. The more the merrier I always say....:)

They are! And thanks so much :)

The logic and critical thinking class is PHIL 2020 which is the recommended humanities class. You can take any class, but the program of study recommended this specific class. Hope that helps you![/quote']

Makes sense. Helped a lot!! Thanks :) I opted for art appreciation for my humanities elective.

Nurse2b I can barely handle school with 1 kid let alone 4! Wow!!! I won't be working once I start school full time so things will be a little less hectic:) Just wanted to let you guys know I spoke to GPC today and they do have my TEAS scores so apparently you can choose either the GPC or the GPC TEAS option at ATI. Just wanted to let you know in case anyone else had the same problem as me! And to the people taking Speech online...how does that work? Do you just write speeches that you submit but you don't have to give them? Or do you submit some type of recording? I didn't take speech when I got my first degree so I'm worried I will have to take it at some point and I HATE public speaking haha! I don't know about you guys but I'm ready for April!

My friend that took it online at gpc said you have to video yourself and then send it in. I thought that was much better than standing in front of a bunch of people! And yes I'm so ready for April! I'm so worried I'm not going to make it, I'm just ready to know already!

I know what you mean! My GPA stresses me out! I just have to keep reminding myself that I've waited 5 years to do this and if I have to wait another year its fine! I'll be finished with A&P 1&2 and Micro in time for next year's deadline which means I'll be able to apply to the technical schools...they don't look at your overall GPA just your grades in English, Math and the sciences so I think my chances of getting in would be much better...I don't want to wait though!!!

I was terrified of having to take this class (I hate speaking to large crowds) so I took it online over the summer and it wasn't all that bad. We wrote 4 speeches (recorded ourselves speaking them or did a youtube video), did a powerpoint presentation, critiqued 2 famous speeches, and had a final speech that had to be proctored, or you could video yourself giving the speech to a crowd of 10 people. I recommend going the online route if you are an anxious public speaker.

Milesamelia thx for the update!! I think I will call too!! I want to make sure they got my Teas scores as well. Is anyone applying to Bauder College or know anyone that's attended? I have to check their pass rate from Nov. I think they had their first graduating class then. It's very fast paced from what I've read on here. I think it's awesome to have yr RN degree in 18 mos. I just wonder if you're really prepared in such a short amount of time. :(

I've heard of Bauder but refuse to pay that much for it lol I think it's an ok school I just don't know how favorably employers look at that degree.

From what I've heard, you don't start your clinicals til pretty far into Bauders program. I just don't think you would be as clinically prepared as you should be, but that's just me. I know they go something like 6 days a week, but still. Cramming all that in to such a short time period just feels unsafe. This is just my opinion though!

Meeep you feel like I do with regards to being prepared. Oh well, I just thought I'd ask! Thx for the feedback group. Btw, anyone know about Gordon's program??
