Georgia Highlands College Waiting Game!

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

I LOVE notecards too. Where did you say you all were buying them? I went to Kroger to look at their school supplies and their price is still way too high. I would think Walmart has them for pretty cheap.....any other places that you all recommend?

I just spoke with one of the people that were on the interview panel. She said about 40 people applied and only 28 will be accepted.

 Yikes!

I guess that whatever is meant to be, will be.:vlin:

don't fret....those are still good odds. if they are accepting 28 people out of 40 applications, that's a 70% chance you'll get in!

just think about it this way.....i know that you all desperately want the wellstar scholarship (who wouldn't?)....but, you are still in the nursing program even if you don't get it. :icon_hug: you may have to change plans and regroup, but in a year and a half......we are all still gonna be rn's! :nurse:

i'm rootin' for all of you to get in....keep your chin up and think positive thoughts.

I don't want the scholarship. I just want the job. lol.

I want the scholarship cause I need the $ but I am also super excited about the opportunity of guaranteed employment. I hope that if the wellstar program works out, I can be graduating maybe when the new Paulding Hospital is getting finished.....O.k, I live in dreamland.

I just found out some information about the scholarship. You do not get any of the money until after the 1st semester. They said that most people fail/drop out during the first semester. After that, you will get the money before the classes begin.

Wal-Mart has 100 pack note cards for $0.64 and there's no tax this weekend. Last semester, I got them at Big Lots. A pack of 200, was less than $2, but they aren't good quality and to me, they were more like really think paper instead of a note card. I was never a big notecard person until Micro with Mr. Hitz. I had hundreds per exam in that class and it really helped out a lot.

The wellstar scholorship is 3000 dollars after the first semester and 1500 after the second and another 1500 after the third semester...your right about keeping it positive..Your still in the nursing program! So if thats the worst thing that could happen..then its really ok! Also did anyone else get the text message on Weds saying if you are intrested in the Wellstar campus there is 40 openings...from Barbara?

Sophia, I did not get a text from Barbara... I checked. Not sure? When I got the email about the program it gave me a deadline of when to get all the required info and the application back to wellstar. Maybe, if you were admitted after the scholar app deadline they were extending the deadline of the application for you. They were allowing you the same opportunity as everyone. :) Did you interview or did you decide against it?

I was told that I got into the program on the day of the application deadline...5:00pm. I quickly wrote an essay, got a babysitter, then drove an hour to find a post office that was open late. Talk about a stressfull day! I interviewed last week. I work for Wellstar right now, so maybe it will help my chances.
