Bauder College Pleasant Surprise

U.S.A. Georgia

So I had a VERY NEGATIVE initial contact with this college. Through just ONE conversation it's apparent that this school is a for-profit. After calling the school I was transferred to their Atlanta campus...The guy answered the phone "are you coming to a information session" which COMPLETELY through me off....no hello, thank you for calling Atlanta...blah blah etc.. it was INFO session info session. He continued to cut me off, avoid all questions. and even got SNAPPY with me. Their customer service is absolutely a turn off and I don't believe this school will be a top choice for me. smh some people do not need to be in customer service... I could NOT believe this guy. Take a PTO day if you don't want to work.

Have you been accepted yet? for what term? Yea i would like to do adn bc i have classes that trasfer...i don't have amy that would for lpn and its not my first choice, i don't want to pay more for lpn when adn is cheaper and my top choice. Will you be working while in the prgram? thats my big thought right now

I have my last interview on Wednesday, and my drug screening today. ADN is a better choice/option for me too. I'm gonna get some clarification on Wednesday to see what the deal is. If I can wait for November, I'm willing to wait. I want to work, because I'm currently employed at Emory, don't really wanna give up my position here BUT if I have to leave, I'll just have to suck it up and focus on school

Nice! what do you do at emory? i just left my full-time job last week to work part-time so i can focus on school. biggggg step for sure. Emory is awesome, that would be nice to wrok there

I work in the Emory Clinic, Ears Nose and Throat Dept. I really dont wanna leave. I'm gonna try my best to work something out in order for me to stay:cry:

Okay im gonna keep it short bc i am sitting n my car on my cell and I had all this info jotted in then my phone completly erased it...grrr! Again, I am currently n the adn pgm at bauder that started in june, so far so good. If u already have prereqs and they are not over 5yrs old then they could possibly transfer. I had a lot of classes to transfer so I was able to save a lot of money. From what I hear from new applicants the process/requirements have changed post the first class. I surmise that is due to the fact its a new pgm that is still being tweeked????...... Anyhow I know several lpns that are/have applied to the future pgm and have not mentioned to me that the pgm is full. Since the lpns dont have to take the first two test their process is swifter....... Let me know how it goes, wasnt aware all for this yr were already filled. Goodluck ev1

thanks for the info! I appreciate it! I ran across a new BSN program starting this month with Herzing University. I'm going to the information session on the 22nd.....gotta check em out, see what they're all about since I definitely plan on getting my BSN.

Had my last interview today, went pretty well. I decided to go for the November ADN class instead of the Aug LPN class

Good choice!! so what did you have to do to go for the ADN? just tell them? Also how long before you hear back of your acceptance or denial? I go thursday for the KPT . i'm also about to google herzing!

I just pretty much told the lady that I more interested in the ADN program rather than the LPN, the requirements are the same, the only difference is the score requirements on the KPT testing and the Wonderlic. I called Herzing this morning and they emailed me a brochure. It didnt give much info but I did notice that they are listed on the GA Board of Nursing just like Bauder. If they offer a BSN for the same cost as/admission criteria as Bauder, I'm headed that way:cool:

I found out some new info on Herzing University....I may start a new threat to see if anyone's interested

QUESTION...I too am going through the process I take my KTP test on this Friday... A friend told me that she was asked to sign a promissary note prior to knowing she was accepted. Why is this? I am skeptical about this because I dont want it to lock me in their and block me from other institutions while I wait. Any input on this for the ones who have been accepted.

I'm having a Haaard time settling for the LPN program at Bauder. From what I was told, they are only accepting 12 students for the November ADN program & they are already 80% full.

I guess I'll have to do a LPN to BSN bridge...
