You know you're a nursing student when-

You come up with a ND for your hubby of Frustration r/t lack of effective coping strategies AEB raised voice, angry tone, heavy sighs, rolling of eyes (objective data) and comments of "when are you going to be finished STUDYING!!" (subjective data)

I just finished my 1st fundamentals class, just started Assessment/Pharmacology. While we were learning the nursing process, I kept coming up with nursing diagnoses for EVERYTHING. The cat, the kids, hubby, you name it I've come up with it (lol).

I take a pair of gloves out to clean dishes, and keep thinking I need to use sterile technique in order to put them on (lol). Or I take them off using the way I was taught.

So I guess this means after assessment, I'll be assessing everyone I see (lol).

When you call your roommate. "Your cat's hernia repair didn't work. So far it feels like it's just adipose tissue in the hernia and no small intesines. I checked his bowel sounds and they are active in all four quadrants. I don't think it's an emergency right now, but you may want to call your vet and get an appointment."

I haven't even finished my prereqs yet but I find myself eyeing veins when I'm out in public. I hope that's a good sign and not an impending visit to the locked ward. ...though that much time away from school and family would probably do me some good. So I guess you know you're a pre-nursing student if...

When you set two different alarm clocks, in case you idiotically set one to 5:00PM, or one doesn't go off, or the batteries wear out or........
Not only do you set two different alarm clocks, you put said alarm clocks in completely different locations to force your butt out of bed, and then have your nursing school bestfriend call you to make sure you actually woke up!

I didn't get the chance to read through them all.... because i'm a nursing student... so i'm sorry if this is already up, promise i'm not stealing!

You know you're a nursing student when you have dreams about studying and are able to actually review material in your dreams. (i think it's either a gift from god, or i've gone completely nuts!)

You don't really do anything to your hair but yank it back into a ponytail or twist it up into a claw, and you don't remember the last time you went to the salon (but it was sometime last school break).
