What is your dream nursing career

My dream nursing career would be to work at a college/university working in the student clinic while also health promoting to the peers at the school...while working to do that I would love to work as a school nurse while goin to school for my masters to become a family np :D honestly I would love to have my own office and desk promoting health from all the experiences I hope to have while in nursing school and working as a nurse...so all these careers have all of what I dream of doing with a nursing degree...good luck to all of you chasing your dream nursing job

My dreams are to get my MA and PHD in anesthesiology...:p

My ultimate desired areas are the NICU, PICU, or Pediatrics. I have a passion for working with sick babies and/or children!

I prefer the older population. Lol. Kids would tug at me heart way too badly! Having my own two is why.

I answered on another one but here it goes here. ICU/ER is what interests me. I hope to, one day, have a cardiovascular subspecialty as a NP. But who knows :) I just know my heart couldn't handle working with kids. I really like older people. They are (mostly) so sweet and I enjoy talking to them and caring for them. But then again I'm one of those who wants to take in every stray and give every homeless person what they need. My heart Is too big a lot of the times.. So who knows what specialty I'll end up in. Right now, I just want to do great and graduate! I only have 4 semester left starting this august!

I want to be a psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in children. Ideally, I would love to open up my own practice serving both English and Spanish speakers. Think small scale outpatient mental health clinic, but along with psychotherapy/psychiatric services, I'd love to include mental health promotion workshops, monthly activities for families, and possibly a teen volunteer program where they mentor to elementary and middle school students.

This is my dream. If I will accomplish it entirely depends on this economy getting better. I can only hope that it will :)

Yayyy! I chose school nursing because I'm pretty much drawn to the school enivironment and as for fnp I know I want my masters degree in nursing but didn't know what population I would prefer to work with and I just thought a fnp serves a broader population so fnp it is...good luck to you and all of you on ur goals :-)

Well, I've been lucky enough to work in a nursing home for the elderly while I'm studying, and I really like it. Old people are underappreciated! However, I'm also really interested in emergency medical care and psychiatric/mental health nursing.

I think it's great that there are so many different things you can do as a nurse, so you don't have to just stick to one thing for the rest of your career.

My ideal job would be part time -- teaching, consulting, and/or research. I do that type of work now, but as a full time nurse plus a part time job on the side. I am hoping that I can drop down to do the same type of work on a part time basis once I am in my early 60's.
