I know a lot of people had just started 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th semester, and so on. I'm curious to know the most hectic day you've had so far.

This past week was ungodly for me. Had a 12hr clinical on Tuesday, got home at 6:45ish pm, had to do my careplan which was due the next day at started it right after dinner. I didn't finish the careplan till 5am Wednesday (the next day lol), slept for an hour, got ready and went to my second 12 hour clinical. I had two classmates that stayed over my house and they finished their careplan at 6am haha. I did sleep a full 12 hours that Weds night though haha

What's yours?

I am starting week 4 and don't start clinicals until October 16 but I have come to hate Tuesdays. I have my assessment lab from 9am to noon & my fundamentals lecture from 1-4. I usually work a couple hours that evening too. It is just a long day & right in the beginning of the week, making me feel pretty worn out.

I can't even imagine a 12 hour clinical!

I'm in my 3rd semester. In our 2nd week I had to do prep over Labor Day weekend, 12 hour clinicals Tuesday, SIM lab all day Wednesday, lecture Thursday and Friday as well as going to the lab during lunch both of those days. Clinical paperwork was due Friday, but I don't usually take more than an hour to do a careplan (maybe 2). I am also taking a Wednesday night class, so I think I got about 5 hours sleep each night that week. Things have definitely settled down now and I'm able to breathe.

I love 12 hours, mainly because we only have 1 clinical a week. Doing two 8hr clinicals a week is just a time killer. Problem with 12hr clinicals is that we have to make up for the missing hours by having another 12 hours (which is totally fair), but they are back to back which was the case for me this past week. In any case, I love night shift 12s, but all clinical 12s are days at least until preceptorship.

I work night shift full time and those are twelve hour shifts. Then 10hr clinicals on Mondays. Then lecture wed and thurs for two hours and a two hour lab on Thursdays. Doing this plus studying, cooking, cleaning and having a boyfriend has made for a hectic life until graduation this december

I'm just in my first semester so my long day isn't as bad as yours. Mondays I have a 3 hr physical assessment lecture followed by a 3 hr patho/pharm lecture. I can't imagine what 12 hr clinicals are going to be like!
