i really like celery with peanut butter or cream cheese, apple slices with peanut butter, cereal with vanilla soy milk, carrot sticks or cucumber slices with fat free ranch.... anything that crunches basically. i think the crunch helps me wake up and focus.

i try to stay away from heavy stuff that makes me sleepy... as a rule i stay away from taco bell when im studying, a taco will put me right to bed

My current study snacks include: celery sticks with almond butter, Kashi Almond Flax bars, a few walnut halves, peaches/pears and I love Fage yogurt (great protein source without the sugars you find in most yogurts).
Asherah, where are you getting the Fage yogurt? Someone just told me about it the other day but I haven't seen it in the grocery store. Maybe I need to check next time I'm at Whole Foods.
    Thanks, Jules

That's so easy to forget. I often choose fatty foods when studying so I don't have to stop and scrouge for food as often, but you are right resources are diverted from the brain to the tummy to try to digest that lard.

I get "Rice Crackers with Nuts" from Costco. It's a mix of various flavors of rice crackers in interesting shapes, wasabi balls, and mixed nuts. I also like Quaker granola, with milk or without.
I remember hearing somewhere that eating an apple will help you stay alert, better than caffeine, but I have no idea when/where I heard that. Has anyone else heard that?

Yeah, I have to make a trip to Whole Foods to pick it up, our more common grocery stores around here don't stock it. Just a heads up though, its a bit more pricey than most yogurts ($1.99), but I feel its well worth it.

What no shrimpchips? LOL I actually love them, but they are an acquired taste and they probably have too much salt and fat to be a good study snack.
