What are good shoes, socks, and a watch for a nursing student?

Ideally, my shoes have to be white with no logo present at all. The same applies to the socks. So what are the comfy ones out there?

Also, how about watches? I think a silver/metal one with some nifty gadgets on it would be ideal for a nursing student.

EDIT: Would you advise wearing back support?

I think I know what I'm getting for a watch and it isn't expensive either. These are all very good suggestions.

Sooo irritating! NO working nurses in our area wear white shoes! Luckily for in my program we can wear white shoes with logos, swooshes, piping etc in whatever colors they happen to be, but it seems like a serious waste of money to require (hideously ugly) all-white professional shoes too! One of the gals in my class got some nice croc -like things that were only $30. What about the vegans?

For our nursing program, we have to wear all white leather shoes so I bought myself a pair of the Reebok classic... after wearing them for awhile, they feel tight even though I bought the wide pair. I found it for only $35 on 6pm.com. As for watches, we need one with the seconds hand and bought mine from amazon.com. I LOVE my Timberland Professional shoes- they look exactly like the typical white nursing shoe- very supportive and comfortable!

And I got my watch at Target for like $15 and it claims to be waterproof (for all that hand-washing) and rubbery band is easy to clean off.

Fob watches are great -- cheap AND nothing on your wrist to get in the way of all that hand-washing (or to get germies stuck in every crevice).

I also wear a pin watch on my scrub top... I hate trying to clean watch bands. Took me a while to find the best spot on my scrubs for it so I can see it without messing with it, but it stays clean and I just take it off with my name tag so I don't forget it. I also have a watch on my stethoscope, but it sometimes turns around and isn't always handy when I'm not using the scope.

For shoes, I have New Balance ones with custom orthotics that have saved my knees. Socks, our program requires cuffs, so I wear some cushy ones I bought at Target.

For work I have been wearing New Balance with orthotics, compression socks, and a Fob watch. The NB shoes have been the best for long days so far. If only Asics made nursing shoes, I would never wear anything else.
