I just started nursing school this week, and I have to eat my breakfast around 5am before class. During clinical it will be even earlier. My problem is that I have a hard time eating anything so early in the morning, especially... Read More

    on a typical morning i do a smoothie or greek yogurt with preserves with a multivitamin and eight oz of coffee. i make a 34 ounce smoothie using:

    one banana
    half a cup of frozen blue berries (i buy them fresh and freeze them on a cookie sheet then put them in a ziploc bag....way cheaper than the freezer section)
    frozen mangos or peaches (i also cutand freeze them myself)
    half a cup of fat free vanilla yogurt
    a cup of kefir- its sort of a liquid yogurt type drink, a little tangy

    this usually keeps me full for about 3-4 hours. for a snack between classes or drive to clinical i always have a banana, apples, or carrots and a sandwich or wrap. i also drink lots of water throughout the day so i stay hydrated.

    If its a clinical day.... a bowl of oatmeal with raisins and some oj.

    If its a lecture day, probably nothing until at 7-8am.

    I need the protein and energy to be on the floor at 6:30, so I gotta eat early, and coffee actually make me sleepy more than most people.

    I grab a string cheese or a hard boiled egg from my fridge and an apple if I'm in a hurry. If I have a bit of time then some oatmeal, or a toasted english muffin with peanut butter and that apple sliced up on it.

    Wheat toast with peanut butter or a cereal bar.
