I took my nln nursing test with the thought that I would fail because I didn't study at all. Then got my results and wasn't sure what they meant. Come to find out I get an interview for the school of nursing. Actually it's tomorrow! Im so nervous. I do not want to mess up being that I got this far. Wish me luck guys!!

Lots of luck to you. Keep us posted!

Does anyone know what kind of questions are they gonna ask? Should I be nervous? AGGHGHGHGH!!!! Very stressful!

I had a short-and-sweet interview for my Nursing School and it wasn't much to sweat about (may be different in your school). They pretty much wanted to know my priorities in my life to see if i had the TIME to be in NUrsing School since it does take up a big chunk of your life! My advisors were conerned if I could handle the workload of being in Nursing School and want me to be prepared for what is ahead. Hope this helps a little but GOOD LUCK I am sure you will land yourself a spot!

I had my first interview the other day. I wasn't too nervous, but be prepared for the "Why do you want to be a nurse?" question. We mostly just went over my transcripts, what I wanted to do long-term with a nursing degree (I'd love to do anesthesia - someday, if time and money weren't an issue) and stuff related to the program.

I think it's really the only time to make yourself different than all the others they see on "paper", so make it special!

Best of luck to you!

I was also asked, "what do you think nurses do?"

Good luck.

I was only asked two questions and it was only one lady. I felt very comfortable. I got the why did you choose this school and why do i want to be a nurse. It was good. I should have my result within a couple of weeks.

I found this interesting. I was never interviewed before entering nursing school. I had to take that NLN entrance exam and entered with a 4.0 GPA. No one else in the program this time was interviewed either. I take it that's the norm in a lot of schools?

Bestest of luck to you! Let us know what you find out! :)

Catma63, I'm kinda surprised at this. The interview for admission to my school was also fairly laid back, but we did have one. Although it's certainly time-consuming for the school staff, I think it could be an important piece of the puzzle when admission to so many programs is so competitive.

At the other end of the spectrum, the interview I had for a summer externship position at a local hospital was definitely more intense. More like being raked over the coals! :chair: I haven't heard yet whether or not I got a spot - should hear something by the end of the month.

I didn't have an interview either.

MrsMariAngie -- I'm curious. How did the interview go???

Hey, I'm not sure how it went. It was very weird. The lady who did the interviewing kept her eyes closed while she spoke and then only opened them when she was finished. She only asked two question and while I was answering she never blinked. I got a little creeped out but I stayed like nothing was wrong. :rotfl: Hopefully it will be alright. Im keeping my fingers crossed. I even spoke to my boss and he says hes willing to work with my schedule so that I can go to nursing school full time in the morning.
