UTMB Spring 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello to all! I am applying to UTMB in Galveston for the Spring 2017 start. I have not seen any posts about this particular semester, so I thought I would reach out. Any body applying, gotten information, how was your TEAS test, pre-reqs, etc.?

I look forward to hearing from everyone!

Personally, this is my second degree as I have my first in Business Management & Entrepreneurial Studies. My mom is a nurse and has inspired me in so many ways, and I am excited to see where this journey leads me.

I made an 82.7% on my TEAS V and I am pretty nervous about this as I am not too sure how it compares or what the norm is. I hope everyone is having good luck in their application process and let me know how it is going for ya'll?

Thanks!

Good luck on your application. UTMB is uber-competitive, so it may be wise to have a Plan B just in case you don't make the cut.

You may find more UTMB-related threads/info in the Texas state forum - under "US" in the yellow banner.

I'm also applying! I got an 86 on my TEAS V, but I have a friend who got in with a 75. I just graduated with my B.S. in Health.

I have heard that UTMB focuses a lot on your personal essay. I've read the spring 2016 thread for UTMB and they GPA/TEAS V scores ranged.

After reading so many posts , it seems UTMB takes in many different scores and also brings into consideration the interview!

Thanks yall! It does seem like there is a wide array of scores and backgrounds coming into the program. Which really gives me a lot of hope and excitement. Lots of people to learn from!

Good Luck to each of you!!

How long do you think interview and acceptance/rejection letters will be sent out after the deadline?

I'm also applying for spring 2017. I'm also really nervous. I got. 79 . I called them in they said my school was fine since I got an 87 on science and 90 on math

Hi guys! I have also applied for Spring 2017 at UTMB SON. My application has been complete since May 1st. Now it's just a matter of waiting. I will be commuting from Houston so I don't really know what to expect. I went to the open house and they said it's doable. Classes are Mon- Fri but the time varies. Some days you go from like 9am-1pm and other days from 1pm- 4pm but you can expect to be really busy with studying and clinicals (which is once a week). Any news on when they will be sending out letters??

Good luck to all of us!!

Good luck to you all! I am reapplying for the Spring 2017 semester since I still waitlisted for the Fall 2016 semester.

Hello all!

I am also applying for the Spring 2017 semester at UTMB. Glad to find a thread of others doing the same.

I'll keep periodically checking in so we can all freak out and sit by patiently together while waiting to hear back.

Good luck to all!

I just submitted my application!

GPA: 3.78

TEAS: 84%

I'm not sure how competitive I am but hopefully my stats are good enough!

NursingCAS is kinda confusing, so maybe someone can shine some light on this.

Do they have to have our transcripts submitted and approved by 31 May? Or do we just have to have the actual Nursing CAS, $45 application for UTMB submitted by 31 May? Just asking because I'm still waiting on Nursing CAS to get my transcripts from this Spring semester.
