Time you spend for homework and studying?

How much time do you spend for homework and studying? Do you feel like you have adequate time to manage homework/reading/studying if you manage your time well? Do you feel like your homework is balanced throughout the week? In other words, does lecture or clinical require you get the majority of your homework done in a very short period of time or are you able to work on it throughout the week?

Thanks for your reply.

Mmmm, on a non test week I spend 3 or 4 hours doing homework, 8 hours studying, and 4 hours in.a study group.

The week before a test is a little bit different. I probably put in 15 to 20 hours of studying. I could probably spread it out a little more during off weeks and not have to do so much toward the end, but I like my free time :)

I so have senioritis. Its so hard to focus because my mind is on graduation next semester. My advice would be to prepare in advance get a good nights rest and dont stress. If you dont know it by 10 pm the night before you wont know it by 9 am the next morning. Give your self time to study and relax you know it.

hahah We must be in the same part of the program! I have a BAD case of senioritis. It's 10 weeks till pinning and I am ready for it to all be over!

Keeping that in mind, I do the bulk of my studying on the weekends. Our program is 3/4 time, three days a week. Our 4th semester is different in that we have our two PM clinicals shifts BEFORE our lecture day. So Tues and Wed we are at the hospital from 1500 -2330 and Thursdays, we have theory lecture from 1200 -1630. In previous semesters, we had our lecture day first then we went to clinical which I kind of preferred since you don't have a tiring clinical shift the night before a big exam.

I try as hard as I can to look over the objectives and content before coming to lecture but in reality, I haven't really been good at doing that this semester. I still work as well so on non-exam weeks, I work the weekends so I can get at least 32 hrs on each biweekly paycheck.

However, for instance, we have an exam coming up next week, so I will study tomorrow through Monday, go to clinical Tues-Wed and then wake up before the exam on Thursday and do a quick review. On those study days, it is not uncommon for my study buddies and I to be studying from about 1000 - 2100 (I go to Panera Bread). Sounds bad but it's worked for me so far so if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

@dayanara, I agree with you on time management. That girl in your program is probably studying quantitatively rather than qualitatively.

She's a perfectionist! It is not a bad thing but I told her to relax and be confident in that she knows her stuff and does not need to panic:-)

I'm not the type of person who can study for hours on end every single day. I do assignments, review notes, study guides, etc during the week and I do reading on the weekends. During the week its an average of 1-2 hrs/day, weekends I can go for 6-8 hrs both days with breaks. I tend to burn out and lose focus while studying for long stretches so I try to avoid it as much as I can. I'm also a "crammer" for tests. I go over material to review in the weeks between tests but I don't sit down and really study it until a few days before.
