anyone else have to change the channel when they come on? the song alone can do it to me. great advertising gig though, they know what works. lonely old people not getting mail, dads reading cards from their daughters, etc. aacckk, now i need a kleenex...........
There was one about a little girl ice skating and the mom says while hadning her 2 cards "this is for if you win, this one is for if you dont." I forgot what the card says, but it's all like she would be loved just the same.
That Iams one with the puppy is sad. It never affected me until the kitty that i grew up with died.
there was another one. I'll post it when I think of it.
I always wanted Peter The Folgers Guy to be my big brother (I never had a big brother, lol)... I thought that would be SO KEWL to wake up and have my big brother sneaking home from college and starting coffee! I'd wake up and toddle downstairs in my pj's and we'd "bond" while the coffee percolated before mom and dad woke up....
*giggles* Yeah, I was WAY into that commercial!

My mom and I both tear up at the Hallmark commercials.....we have to turn them off, such a couple of touchy feelies we are....
Some years back Kodak had a commercial over the Christmas holidays where the kids come home with the grandchildren. The house is perfect. The decorations are perfect. Everyone LOVES each other.
I wrote Kodak that year -- as I struggled to keep both sides of our family happy re plans for the holidays -- my FIL was gone that year, my husband had lots of brothers and sisters, my folks and sister were being jerks -- everyone was fighting -- and I told Kodak that MOST families in the US DON'T have a "Kodak Christmas" and that they should stop using their damned commercials to make people feel bad. LOL I never got a response from Kodak. LOL
My favorite commercials: the "Priceless" commercials. Don't see them much anymore and the new ones aren't nearly as good as the old ones.
Yup...I'm right there with you! It's especially bad when they show a "Hallmark" movie...then ALL the commercials (or almost all) are those sappy Hallmark commercials. I get the box of tissues when the movie starts because I know at some point in time I will need em.
"Johnson & Johnson" had some sappy ones too a few years ago.
I guess the one that does it for me is the one where the kid goes up to the marine and asks if he is Santa. And the Marine holds his hand out and the kid gives him the list. I cry every time I see that.
I love that commercial. It really hits home (my husband is a Marine). Another one that gets me is the one with the girl working in the animal shelter and she is taking pictures of the dogs that still needs homes.
Tugbird, please don't me that your husband was deployed. I hope he is home and safe. Yes, I know all about the Ultimate Sacrifice -- my son was a Marine and went all the way through the Gulf War -- and I understand. God love them for risking/protecting their lives to protect us. But when it comes to our husbands (and wives) needlessly losing their lives -- well, I'd better shut up. I really am not happy with this Administration, to say the least.

Love the one where the little boy is sitting on the ground being covered in little puppies licking his face and crawling all over him. Can't remember what they were advertising but love the little boy's giggle! I'm a sucker for any comercial with a critter, always warms my heart!
